Aliens Shot Down Meteorite To Save Us

Moon shot

Here’s a new twist on the Tunguska event, which will soon celebrate its 100th birthday: Pravda (”Truth”) reports on a Russian scientist’s theory that UFO aliens diverted or destroyed the comet or meteorite or whatever it was that was heading for Siberia to save earthlings from a fiery fate.

Yuriy Lavbin (that’s the name they give him) says that he’s convinced that quartz crystals found at the site many years ago prove it. Lavbin also claims that the crystals are covered with “drawings” and even “A strange portrait of a strange person on one of the stones.” The article was supposedly translated by a human, but it reads more like someone stuffed it through the Babelfish application, which makes it even funnier.

This mess brings to mind one of Richard Shaver’s later books, The Secret World. Co-authored with Ray Palmer, the book traced Shaver’s incredible theory that rocks he had sliced (shaved?) open and polished contained pictures of an Atlantean-like civilization. Like many indistinct images into which any number of patterns can be deduced, Secret World took the concept and ran it to its illogical end.

Shaver was of course the originator of the idea of underground dwellers he called the Deros and the Teros and the story of their warring civilizations, which he said came to him through voices emanating from his welding equipment. Good stuff. The subscriptions and sales of Palmer’s Amazing Stories magazine went through the roof with these stories, which many (including Richard Shaver himself) believed were true.

Many years and a couple visits to the crazy farm later, Shaver apparently still had enough bro-points with Palmer to publish The Secret World, which didn’t catch on at all–at least not in the way the Dero stories had.

Of course this “seeing-things-that-ain’t” concept also applies to many UFO pictures and videos, Bigfoot pictures and videos, lake monster pictures and videos and anomalies on the Moon and Mars.

I’ve tried to read Shaver’s work. Sadly, whether he was writing fiction
or history, its a slog to get through.
His art, though-well, that image is a
surprise and a revelation. ( The book you linked to is unavailable, Greg )

    As for PRAVDA…snigger…

Greg: I’m really glad you posted this because yesterday a reader of my research clued me into Andrew Collin’s latest spiel: space-based organic amino acids, sent to earth through comets and meteorites, are actually alien spawnings of modern humans, communicated through psychotropic chemicals, like DMT.

Well the whole biophoton trip is a fun one to take especially since it’s the reason I was banned from PZ Myer’s blog: Quantum evolution is a quandary filled with mind-bending paradoxes. As Kurt Godel stated, time-travel works because the person (alien) does not DESIRE to change his (it) future. Even quantum chaos mathematician Ian Stewart and his biologist buddy screwed this up in their recent book: Evolving the Alien. I exchanged a few emails with Stewart over the matter, pointing out that indeed aliens ARE actually taoist hermits, as Evolving the Alien jokes. I told Stewart that I had already achieved telepathy, telekinesis and precognition by taking classes from the Taoist hermit master Chunyi Lin. Stewart responded with a letter published in the journal Nature soon afterwards stating that while he disbelieved in natural telepathy he did think that quantum computing would enable it — in the future (when we’re all silica-based aliens created by Dawkin’s synthetic ecology).

    It’s Ray Palmer, not Richard.

    Craig,

One of the co-founders of the Excluded Middle magazine, my friend Peter Stenshoel, has a copy of the Shaver book, which is how I found out about it many years ago. It might be for sale on any number of online sites, but at a price I’m not willing to pay.

I have a lot of contactee books, but haven’t read all the way through almost any of them, since they’re mostly full of unreadable drivel.

    Kenn,

    Fixed in text. Thanks!

  6. Greg Bishop Says:

    Drew,

Some of your comments seem to be “mind-bending paradoxes!”

  7. jeanniesbottle Says:

Perhaps the Aliens could help us out with our deteriorating ozone layer whilst they are at it.

  8. Greg Bishop Says:

    jeanniesbottle,

    “Aliens Ex Machina!”
