It Appears To Be A Fizzle
Received the emails this morning. Going over them quickly, it seems that Martinez has taken it upon himself (or perhaps at the request of his source) to excise the names of people in a supposed Reagan presidential UFO briefing who are still alive, which makes it a little difficult to check with anyone. Also, the transcribed speech seems stilted and Reagan refers to Caspar Weinberger as “Casp” although I recall he used “Cap” when talking to his Secretary of Defense.
Another one of the suspicious things about this supposed release of a secret presidential briefing is that everything I’ve read so far in it is exactly what some ufologists and the SERPO crowd are expecting. Here’s an interesting excerpt, supposedly from someone who is referred to as the “Caretaker” [of government UFO knowledge]:
…this is complicated, but it is a form of counterintelligence. We give the public some actual facts and let them run with it. The rest is taken care of by them. If you consider the FIRST PERSON who helped us with this disinformation program, Mr GEORGE ADAMSKI, back in the early ’50s, and up to all of the movie productions of UFO-related movies. This helps the public to keep their minds open, but also allows us to keep our secret aircraft away from the public’s knowledge. That includes some of the craft that were lent to us by the Ebens.
Adamski (a naturalized Polish citizen of apparently average intelligence) was working for THEM!

Some may accuse me of giving time and space to something that is worthless, but as this is supposedly a site for all UFO-related news, as well as a outlet for Nick and I on subjects that interest us, we also look at the very important human reaction to the UFO subject, even if some of it dips into ufological equivalent of the Weekly World News. Also, if this activity is further evidence of disinfo (which it most certainly is) it is interesting to see where it may be directing our (or some people’s) attention.

Well, I have only read an extract, but I will share some of my thoughts on this:
*It’s interesting that the briefing claims our scientists weren’t able to taxonomically identify the EBEns bodies with any earthly species. That their internal organs was completely different, and also their blood which wasn’t even red. But THEN they so-called “caretaker” goes on and says that the bodies found on the 2nd crash site, that were lying on the desert for 2 years, were heavily decompossed for both exposure and scavenging of animals. Well, wouldn’t be kind of difficult? What kind of earthly animal would feed off a being with a completely different bio-chemistry than Earthly life? it would be easier to find nourishment in a PLASTIC BOTTLE.
*Also, the briefing sustains that for the Ebens it takes an order of 9 months to go from their home world in Zeta Reticuli, to Earth. But yet they say the second crash was only discovered by the military after 2 years. Well, what about THEM? Why would they leave all their stuff and the corpses of their buddies lying there so they could be found by us monkeys? Unless you would assume that a)the crashes were all planned and orchestrated by THEM, or b) they didn’t care for their expeditionary teams anymore than we don’t care much if a satellite breaks down or a martian probe malfunctions. But that’s too much speculation…
* Also this, whih I quote directly:
“Many reported sightings and incidents have occurred over nuclear weapons bases. The aliens’ interest in our nuclear weapons can only be attributed to the future threat of a nuclear war on Earth that could affect space.”
So the guys who wrote “The day the Earth stod still” were right all along! Imagine that
Well, that’s all for now. I’ll continue reading this. But one last thing I wanted to add, is that it’s interesting the symmilarities between CARET, and the codename they gave to the agent charged with the guarding of this sensitive information, the “caretaker”:

Ha! I knew it!!
The CARETAKER: Well, Mr President, the first cooperative venture was the movie, “The Day the Earth Stood Still.” That was a cooperative venture with the United States Air Force and the movie industry.
So now these guys can take material from ANY Sci-Fi movie, and let us in doubt as whether the plot of the movie has factual information concerning aliens or not. Very clever…

The thing that stinks most of all, of course is:
“THIS RELEASE HAS BEEN APPROVED BY and AT THE HIGHEST LEVELS OF THE U.S. GOVERNMENT as part of a continuing public acclimation program.”
Really?!
That being the case, how’s about some independant corroboration? Anything?! It’s just so very pointless. If something is approved by the government I expect to see it in the form of a Pentagon press meeting. Until then it’s all just vaguely interesting, mindless crap that isn’t even worth calling disinfo.
I guess there’s no chance of us hearing the audio?

Re: you other comments, the guy at Open Minds seemed to think that this would occasion all sorts of disclosure events, but I’m sticking to my original predictions. In other words, I pretty much agree with you.

Yes, there are a lot of logical holes in the narrative, but the believers would say that is precisely why it’s true!
I have heard rumors that the “Close Encounters” movie was partially guided by the government, and there is a history of gov’t fingers in movie productions, but this proves very little of course.
