Don’t Tase Me, Space Bro!
We would have thought that the genteel French would stay out of the big brother game, but here’s a report on a businessman in that country selling a product that looks like a flying saucer and zaps dissenters from its perch in the sky. No details on how this technology works, but in light of recent deaths in Canada (and others around the world) from taser shots, this is disturbing.

Welcome to the future: aerial drones, zapping from the skies, and state surveillance.

Mon Dieu!
“Antoine di Zazzo is a big fan of the TASER gun and claims to have been hit more than 50 times without any side effects.”
Yeah, that’s obvious…

He wasn’t very smart and got caught. The whole redlight/traffic/spy camera thing is going to be the straw that breaks the camel’s back eventually especially when the tickets start coming in the mail.

Nick,
Looks more like all those dystopian movies and novels every day.

Ben,
That phrase has made me laugh out loud since it was yelled by that dude in Florida a few months back. I’m still looking for the t-shirt. Maybe I’ll just make my own.

Re: Your linked story - How about just spray painting the camera lenses?

A paintball gun could have done the trick, cutting the power to the camera or finding and cutting the output feed. This guy just wasn’t very smart especially when a quieter rifle cartridge then a .30-’06 could have done the job just as well. A single determined and knowledgeable individual could easily take down a sizeable portion of any major urban traffic cam system in a few hours on foot or a bicycle.

crg,
That would be great, until he or she was caught by the authorities who were following the pattern of failed equipment!
