Area 51 Has A New Name
It’s now known as “Homey Airport” on civilian charts. The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association site has noticed that the secret base is now designated on GPS software as KXTA. The extraterrestrial airport joke has already rattled the authorities: “We already know and it doesn’t matter,” said a public affairs official at Nellis Air Force Base. This begs the question about who came up with the designator and if it was meant as a joke. Rivalry between the FAA and the Air Force?
An old aircraft sectional chart simply says “Groom Lake” and shows no runways or facilities, and is right in the middle of all kinds of restricted airspace. Big surprise.
I hope all my alien homies continue to use area 51 anyway.
