"No one outside of our interest group is going to care about this one anyway."

You got it, bubba! Dead on the money. To all the "outsiders' this will neither help nor hinder. They couldn't care less, no matter what.

Paul and Greg,

I know it's likely a fake, but the discussion about it is what interests me, and unless someone is pushing their belief system on me, I'm willing to talk about nearly anything. The posts on kokopelli/ mescalito et. al. bring up issues I find educational and enjoyable. I really don't care in this case if it makes "ufology look bad." No one outside of our interest group is going to care about this one anyway.

Adam,

"Is" can be a tricky term, as elucidated by Saint Bob Wilson.

Paul wrote:

"Sorry, Greg, but stuff like this is why almost no-one in science, the media or academia takes the subject seriously. An anonymous photo is worthless. Absolutely worthless."

Have to agree completely with Paul. While I can't say anything about whether it is fake, a misattribution, or genuine, the photo alone offers nothing. There is no witness (let alone group witness) as the photographer said she didn't see anything, there is no trace evidence. Just a weird looking maybe-humanoidish object/figure with a cartoony look about it, on a blurry photo from a mobile phone. Hence my original point "not really even worth taking the time to think about". And as Paul said, it's the kind of thing that makes ufology (and associated fields of the paranormal) look stupid to outsiders.

Kind regards,
Greg

Alan

Me need a comb-over? LOL, that's a good one! There isn't enough on my head *now* for a comb-over, never mind when I'm an old and feeble "mushroom god"!! I still think that alien has a crappy comb-over though. Has ET got no taste at all?

Looks like something either Photoshopped or done with Adobe Illustrator to me. Where was Doc Shiels
when this anonymous anomaly was submitted? Does have a bit of a "Gumby"-style claymation look to it and the swept-back big "whatever" at the back of the head echos the described and drawn ears of the Kelly-Hopkinsville, Kentucky, aliens.

Alan,

I am cursing you, you have just hit upon my fears of all things that adults intend to be non threatening and that children find terrifying.

I fear sock puppets and clowns, and who can blame me? . . .and just as I set down to respond to you the phone rings and no-one is there except a faint electronic babble of some machine that communicates only in analogue. But do I hear sinister laughter as well?

Thanks a lot ALAN! It's going to be a long night in the Ops Center tonight.

May you say 'hastur' when the stars are right.

Greg,

It all depends on what the meaning of the word "is" is.
