Only if he's an alien hybrid clone! I'm curious about how they're going to explain Mulder has managed to stay free 6 years on the lam while being hunted by his former employer, the FBI. The final 2 episodes were a good way to wrap up the series with the guest ghosts, the Gunmen, Nicolas Lea(Alex Krychek) and Steven Williams(Mr. X). Mulder needed to be called Spooky because a lot folks died when he came around. I was looking up the movie on IMDB and saw that the incestuous nature of Hollywood/Vancouver is still in full effect: Callum Rennie, who plays a Cylon on the current Battlestar Galactica series is on it. The crossover guests stars list between Twin Peaks, Stargate One, the X-Files and sci-fi shows is very long and amazing.

RPJ:
Yeah I was wondering who might make a reappearance aside from Mulder and Scully. I vote for Lord Kinbote!

I think every hardcore fan of the Files would agree the length of the show hit hard on the whole mythology background. But there sure were a lot of jewels of "single" shows during the last seasons that were worth seeing.

Robert Patrick's character was ok. It felt real honest and I think he's a great actor.

The Lone Gunmen were awesome, I never had the chance to watch the spinoff series, but after watching the X-Files program where they died —I shed a few tears in that one— I'm thinking of buying the season on Amazon one of these days.

I'm sure gonna watch the film. Do you think Cancer Man will make a cameo? That would be awesome! :-)

I liked The Lone Gunmen series (I met Dean Haglund, who played Langly, last year and had lunch with him - he's a very cool, down-to-earth guy). The first episode of the series was very intriguing, to say the least!!

Millennium and the Lone Gunmen were both excellent spinoffs of the X-Files cut short before they could catch the X-Files in popularity. Yes, Millennium was a spin-off as Frank Black had worked in the FBI's serial killer squad, too, the same as Mulder had before he started pursuing the X-Files.

I never had a problem with his performance. However, I think that when Duchovny left, they should have brought the series to an end then.

The original show should have been just Mulder and Scully.

And if they still wanted to bring in Robert Patrick's character, they should have done a spin-off series instead, in the same way that show's like Star Trek didn't replace the originals, but did spin-off series too.

Ideally, they should have ended the show around the time the first movie came out, as the series went on way too long, in my opinion.

The whole alien-conspiracy theme definitely went on for far too long. Had they ended it all around 98, it would have been perfect.

Dragging it all out for another few years, in my view, was a big mistake.

It kind of turned into the Rolling Stones: began great, was very cool for several years, but went on for way too long and didn't know when to stop.

But, I'll still go and see the new film. Maybe the time-break will make for a refreshed, revitalised film and script.

Robert Patrick's portrayal of John Doggett was near perfect as an "everyman" caught up in the weirdness that was in the "X-Files". Like many truly open-minded skeptics who enter the field of paranormal research and the world of secret conspiracy at series end, he wasn't a true believer but he displayed a grudging respect for those who pursued the truth. Knowing that on the surface, reality might not actually be what in seems. Still love the killer bat-boy episode.

RPJ:

Cheers - we had a good time. I'm doing a big review of the gig for Fortean Times magazine, so I'll keep people posted re when it appears.

LOL: yeah, you're right re the X-Files and the Mulder-Scully relationship! Frankly, I stopped watching The X-Files after Robert Patrick joined and only went back to it for the last few to see how it would all end.

I hope they do a good job of the new film, though.

<i>"After years of teasing viewers with Mulder and Scully's will-they-won't-they romance, producers have released sneak peak pictures of the upcoming movie, hinting the couple may be getting close again."</i>

Didn't this guy see the very last program?? I think that question has been answered years ago.

PS: Welcome back, dude :-)
