UFOs in “Fate”
The new issue of Fate has just been published; and as usual it’s a good one. And for those who like their UFOs drenched in conspiracies, look no further than Kenn Thomas’s intriguing article: The Invasion was Televised: Fred Crisman, John F. Kennedy and a Television Show.
Crisman, of course, was a key player in the Maury Island affair of 1947; we all know who Kennedy was; and the TV show? Well, it’s not hard to work out; but I’ll leave that one with you…
And you also get a couple of insightful articles on Charles Fort (one on the man, and one on his published works), who seems to have dominated UFOMystic the last few days. Buy, buy, buy!

Yeah Nick — that UFO Special FATE book was very excellent. I’m also really enjoying the “Exploring the Healing Miracle,” another FATE edition.
So now FATE does FORT and I just happen to have two FATE books sandwiched against the Complete Fort book in my backpack.
Maybe I’ve had some psychic link-up with Lakeville, about 20 miles south of me, where FATE is published….

Alright — I bought my issue of FATE but then started chatting with Roger at Magus Books — he’s a Brit, like yourself Nick, and next thing I know I’ve signed a receipt for a $70 copy of Gurdjieff’s Beezlebub book.
It’s almost the same number of pages as the Complete Works of Fort. Both Fort and Gurdjieff had that walrus mustache — the handlebar.
In fact Fort’s orthogenetic theory, before he wrote the Book of the Damned, is probably more similar to Gurdjieff than to say Alfred Jarry (the Fort comparision made by Doug Skinner in the FATE issue).
