UFOs & Ghosts

Micah Hanks is a friend of mine living in Asheville, North Carolina. He has just written an article for Fate magazine on a subject that may be of keen interest to readers of UFOMystic: namely, the intriguing parallels that exist between the UFO issue and that pertaining to ghostly encounters.

The photo here shows me and Micah at last September’s Dark 30 Tour gig in Asheville, where topics under discussion included UFOs, paranormal phenomena, ghosts, cryptozoology and conspiracy theories.

As Micah says in his article: “Seldom are the odd parallels between ghosts and UFOs given their due and proper. After all, phenomena as seemingly unrelated as these couldn’t possibly share common ground, right? Truth be known, when all the variables are given proper consideration, the resulting possible connections are infinite.”

Micah also says: “Let us focus on a single aspect to serve as a sort of common link. We’ll rely on this to bridge the gap between UFOs and spirit phenomena, and allow us to draw parallels as we consider the following examples. Indeed, since the link we’ll use is the human mind itself, one must ask: might ghosts and UFOs only appear to be as real as our minds allow? If they exist, are they merely ghostly receptors, capable of reflecting the depths of our own imaginations?”

In a (fairly) recent interview on Dave Navarro’s Spread, Whitley Strieber told something I wasn’t aware about; that in his famous 1985 abduction case that was depicted in Communion, he saw what seemed to be the “soul” or “ghost” of a man, a man he knew from his days in college and that had gone to work at the CIA.

But the tricky thing is this: Strieber didn’t find out the man was dead until AFTER the incident, when he tried to locate this individual.

Cheers for this; very interesting. I had meant to check out the Navarro interview and forgot, so have bookmarked it now to do so.

I just read about and saw a picture of this guy last night while reading a book about ghost hunting- the chapter mainly dealt with Joshua Warren.
Anyway, I see you’re going to be making a appearance on Uncanny Radio on Wednesday. Looking forward to another entertaining Redfern interview.

Yeah, Micah works closely with Josh; they have a good group of paranormal researchers in Asheville.

    Greetings to all.
For me the issue of whether or not there is any, is not the issue. The point is that
seem super stupid, they can give two stupidities advantage of the most stupid person on the planet. Can you imagine what that can be stupid to tell a thousand times more advanced technology to ours and use it only for resting on a tree?.
If I were an alien I would sure to make things more exciting.
Are You can imagine that I have a long and tiring journey behind me and the only thing I do is look at a tree?.
Or when I return the trip tell my boss: ho! only have a tree inspection … But we scared some aliens travelling in a very rudimentary device.
Come on! (Says the boss) I have here a report from Smart18 thousand
years ago who said that the alien have yet dopamine in their brains and
two holes very strange in their bodies, the supreme leader is very interested in
these holes so you get in touch with Smart18 and return to see the evolution of these holes and not cursed forget you make some galactics maneuvers in front of their noses, the supreme leader will be happy to the supremacy of our smart.

If you have a unlucky day and see some UFO dont panic, dont let it some
    special relevance.
    Thanks for read this.

I would never have put the two together until we moved up here to Washington state. I’ve heard some strange noises that are often attributed to UFO activity and had a couple of “ghostly” experiences here. Strange indeed. I really don’t know what to make of these experiences.
