The Legacy of Roswell

Secrets of Roswell: Finally Told After 60 Years!

In the summer of 1947, falling debris of an unknown object came to rest on the Foster Ranch outside of Roswell , New Mexico . I was 11 years old at the time and my dad was the base intelligence officer at the Roswell Army Air Field. This was the same base that was home to the 509th Composite Bomb Group, responsible for the ending of WWII with the atomic bombing of Japan . The base itself was privy to some of the most closely guarded secrets in the nation at that time. My father, Major Marcel, was deeply involved in the most sensitive intelligence at the base.
The Roswell Legacy is the story of his involvement in the now famous event triggered by the crash of a mysterious object on the Foster Ranch. The timeline started when the ranch foreman, Mac Brazil , recovered portions of an unidentified flying object that he subsequently turned over to the local sheriff, who, in turn, contacted Colonel Blanchard, commanding officer of the air base at Roswell . Colonel Blanchard ordered my father, Major Marcel, and a CIC agent to the crash site for investigation and recovery of representative debris samples. Thus the Roswell saga began.
For years after my dad’s death I wanted to write a book confirming his credentials and relevance to the story. When stationed as a flight surgeon in Iraq and being subject to eminent danger from mortar attacks, I was reminded of my own mortality and thought it was high time to get the project underway. At one point, my computer with book notes was damaged by a nearby mortar strike so I took the precaution of protecting the computer with my flack vest if I was not wearing it at the time. I figured that if my hooch took a direct hit at night at least my computer would survive even if I did not.
I am hopeful that The Roswell Legacy will confirm the fact that my dad knew what he was talking about, and the fact he kept the secret of Roswell for over thirty years before divulging it primarily to a noted UFO researcher, Stanton Friedman. It is so frustrating to read articles written by close-minded skeptics who have the attitude that says, don’t confuse me with facts, my mind is made up. They have almost totally ignored his service record, which confirms his trustworthiness and honesty. What they did with his service record was to take statements out of context to undermine his basic character.
My father had no financial interest in the story, but thought it was high time to let the American people know the true circumstances of the Roswell event. To his dying day, he never wavered in his conviction that the debris recovered from that ranch so many years ago was, in fact, parts of an extraterrestrial craft. For all that was known in 1947, there was no such thing as extraterrestrial civilizations and certainly not visitations to Earth by them. It was a total surprise that there were such things as extraterrestrial civilizations and moreover, that they had the ability to cross the vastness of space to study more primitive civilizations such as ours. One of the biggest lessons learned from the event is the fact that interstellar space travel is possible and eventually, we will have the technology to be able to do so.
Having personally seen the crash site debris that my father brought home that night in 1947, I compared notes with my dad, in later years, and confirmed his feelings that this was certainly something not of human manufacture. He, as well as others, described characteristics that were not present in known metals and materials of the time.
The Roswell Legacy goes into detail about the official position on the nature of the debris and the government’s effort to cover up what was actually found. The government first said that the debris was from a weather balloon, and then from a top secret project called Project Mogul. They alleged that the remains of a Mogul Balloon could have been confused with debris from what was called a flying saucer. While there was some resemblance, the debris could not have come from a top secret project such as the Mogul Balloon.
While we are far from being able to do so, The Roswell Legacy confirms how it is possible for interstellar space travel to actually be accomplished. There are theoretical possibilities of a space warp drive that can travel at any arbitrary velocity with the energy for the drive coming from the fabric of space itself. Like the old saying goes, the proof of principle has been established and all it takes now is the engineering. With the advancements we have made in the last 100 years, who’s to say we will not conquer space itself in the next 500 years? Breakthrough propulsion could come at any time, relegating chemical rocket travel to the back pages of ancient history. The skeptics love to keep parroting the old saw that because we cannot travel in interstellar space in any meaningful manner, no one else can either. How wrong they are!

Says who? So far, we have only seen a bunch of technically illiterate people make that claim.

That means that the Roswell Legacy goes into detail how the whole entire town of Roswell, even at the height of the UFO frenzy, completely and totally forgot about that incident for more than 20 years, before some used car salesman-like person who wasn’t even there, brought it up all over again? That doesn’t make sense! And since then, hundreds upon hundreds of people have suddenly come out of the woodwork, claiming to have been there and seen something? Sounds more like a case of false memories and mass delusions, instead of fact finding. It also sounds more like a case of gullibly accepting anyone’s claim that they were there, instead of investigative and objective reporting.

By resorting to something that is neither scientifically theoretical nor scientifically hypothetical, but is speculative, the Roswell Legacy confirms it is not a book about the pursuit of truth but of grasping at pseudo-scientific straws.

Like the other old saying goes, that is New Age fantasy instead of actual reality. There is absolutely no scientific proof or evidence that anything with mass can travel at any arbitrary velocity, or that energy can be derived from “the fabric of space itself” — in fact, it is quite the opposite. For example, if anything with mass could travel at any arbitrary velocity, Einstein will have been proven wrong, yet the most recent science news tells us that the more accurate the measurements, the more Einstein’s Theories are vindicated. At this rate, Einstein’s Theories will soon become Einstein’s Laws of Nature. That nonsense about deriving energy from the fabric of space time sounds like some a person who, after reading something about zero-point energy, had to explain it to someone else without having a clue what it was they just read. Zero-point energy, by definition, is not something that can be derived because it is an endpoint sink, not a source. The fabric of space is currently a metaphor, not a description of anything that is known to exist. Space is not composed of any known fabric.

You mean imagineering, not engineering.

The next Hitler will say so. Technology will not and cannot save humans from destroying themselves and their environment, as they are currently doing. Technology will not and cannot save humans from irrational ideas, like the Crusades and Inquisitions or a hydrogen economy. Far more important than technology is psychology.

And Jesse is going to prove that by using one make believe fantasy to support another make believe fantasy? How wrong he is!
Furthermore, skeptics no longer use that argument. It is an outdated and strawman argument.

Given that we’ve already developed several spacecraft engines(ion engines) capable of pushing a craft to a good percentage of the speed of light with our current energy technology, there’s no telling what another race of beings that has even has 100 year head start on us would be capable of. Just look at what we imagineered with telecommunications devices in the last 40 years. We’re still in our ‘nuclear energy infancy’ in terms of actually capturing and converting it’s potential power to practical locomotive force. Every serious space engineer has said that a nuclear powered spacecraft could cut our travel time within the solar to a tenth of what it is currently. With any luck, we’ll start building our next generation of manned spacecraft in space(lunar orbit would be nice) and not wasting it on chasing our tails in orbit around the Earth.

“The Sage” up there is not quite the sage he thinks he is. The Roswell incident did not die down after the initial reports in 1947 only to be revived in the 1980s by people interested only in writing a sensational UFO book. Reference appeared in newspaper accounts of other sightings long after, it matches what Barry Goldwater said in the 60s and Richard Nixon backed that up with Jackie Gleason in the 70s. More importantly, Wilhelm Reich made a detailed report of his trip to Roswell, including examination of what he described as an alien presence, in his last book, Contact With Space, published in 1955. My contribution to the just-published anthology, Secret and Suppressed II (Feral House) explains all this in detail. But such a book is not for the so-called “skeptic” who can’t let the facts get in the way of his reality tunnel.

The problem with space travel has never been one of velocity or time, but economics. Yet think about it, nearly 15 years after it was launched, Voyager has just now reached the Heliopause. That same distance takes light from the Sun only 13.46 hours to traverse — and Voyager is the fastest man-made object in the Solar System! Voyager now only needs to cover only 149.318 times that distance to make it to the nearest star system. Never understate the importance of time because in our world, time is money and there is not that much to go around.
There is no technology capable of getting to even the nearest star without massive amounts of fuel, and as we all know, fuel is money. For example, it would take approximately 137 tons of fuel to launch a 100 ton payload to Mars and back using Nuclear Propulsion, at a cost of at least $1,300,000,000 dollars (ref http://www.astrodigital.org/space/nuclear.html). This cost will only go up with time, as history has relentlessly demonstrated — and if we cannot afford it now, how will we ever possibly afford it in the future?
Yet we are not talking about a one time 100 ton payload here, we are talking about establishing trade routes between all kinds of other star systems, just like our imaginary UFO buddies do. It clearly is just not practical for us to do that because we cannot afford to do that. Technology is irrelevant. Even if we pretend that we could someday afford to do that, that would assume that we didn’t destroy ourselves or the Earth before that could happen, and that isn’t likely to happen, considering our propensity to waste our resources on prolonging a war fought for nothing more then an Ice Cream truck being mistaken by our wonderful Intelligence community for a make believe “mobile nuclear biological warfare factory” or some such nonsense.
All of this is off topic though. The point is that Roswell that there is no evidence that Roswell ever happened as Marcel says it did, so speculating on how someone or something got here when we don’t even have proof they got here, is pointless meandering. Even if we could prove that Roswell happened as Marcel pretends it did, it still wouldn’t prove that regular space travel is possible, afterall, it could have been a one way trip.

Kenn, I am not a Sage and never claimed to be one, but you clearly are not one yourself. I also am not gullible, but this is where you and I differ from each other. Case in point, neither Richard Nixon nor Jackie Gleason ever went on record for saying they believed anything about Roswell. It was the unconfirmable hearsay of Jackie Gleason’s ex-wife, Beverly McKittrick, that spawned this urban legend. Although Beverly claimed Nixon and Gleason both saw the dead bodies of the Roswell aliens in nineteen seventy-something, she failed to mention this until AFTER Roswell was made popular by Stanton Friedman. Can you say, false memory? So once again we are left with that fact that there still is NO MENTION of Roswell until many, many long years after it happened. Even if we pretend that the Nixon and Gleason was not a wive’s tale, why only these two people for all those many, many years? Your version of the story does not add up.
As for Wilhelm Reich and his CONTACT WITH SPACE, clearly you have never read it. It does not mention Roswell, is not about Roswell, and it happened around the time of Roswell, and not long after Roswell (see http://www.space.com/sciencefiction/phenomena/reich_816.html). Before trying to cut down other people because you think they don’t have all the facts, get your own facts straight first, otherwise you might wind up with your foot in your mouth.
The fact still remains, Roswell incident DID die down within months of it occurring, the question is, why?

Wow — this is a great discussion going on here. Where’s the tupperware? Seriously though I gotta go with the Sage here, despite his inaccuracy about Roswell, not that I won’t dig into Adam Parfey’s latest (since he didn’t attack me in the back seat of the car on the way back to NYC from the Fortfest in Bethesda).
OK a couple corrections as well — the whole Einstein is God schtick has got to stop. The man was wrong about one thing — claiming light has mass. Light has momentum — not mass. A fine but crucial detail that covers up a butt-load of some serious logic.
Which leads me to my favorite UFOlogical statement: Violation of logic does not prove causality — J. Allen Hynek.
I like to twist that statement around — UFOs rely on logic — or the violation of Western scientific logic — which thereby DOES prove their existence.
Tesla argued there was some sort of ether based on sound — longitudinal waves — as a sort of pressure (a plasma ion of electrogravitic yadda yadda). Still that doesn’t mean his, and the subsequent HAARP CIA e.l.f. mind control technology, is going to save the planet. Neither will nukes stop global warming (despite Obama being OWNED by Exelon, the now largest nuke company in the world)… nor will nukes enable humanoids aka nanobiomotors to colonize the universe, helping it to evolve.
No, the fact is, all this tritium and uranium leaking into the air and water, etc., (with the meltdown here and there) is only verifying J. Allen Hynek’s great motto about UFOlogy (and science in general).

The Sage who doesn’t call himself a sage except in every e-mail he has posted here, is just totally wrong, and Drew you should know better. That’s nice that you met Adam once, now go look at the new book and pay attention to the details in the Reich article.
Or read Contact With Space, which Reich published in 1956, almost a decade after the crash (and I am looking at right now as I type), especially the part that begins “Although it was very hot as we neared Roswell…”, just under a sketch of the area. Or don’t–just follow the non-Sage’s link to SPACE.com. What the hay, that kind of research is good enough for him.
Secret and Suppressed II also has a photo of Nixon and Gleason caddying around in Palm Springs, where longstanding lore says Eisenhower–under whom Nixon served as VP–saw the aliens as well. Friedman must have gotten to the people who started that scurrilous rumor as well.
I can’t spend a lot of time rehashing this with someone who, again, doesn’t let the facts get in the way of a homily on high school astrophysics. My foot is more firmly planted on the ground on this than his, though. His, in fact, has worked itself up already to his mouth.

Correction: My exact words were, I never claimed TO BE A Sage, not that I never CALLED MYSELF a Sage.
Let me also be a little more clear here by correcting my error of omission from my last post regarding Reich — Reich never mentions the Roswell *incident* in his book, CONTACT FROM SPACE. Your quote from Reich is a butchered quote, so let us resort the quote to it’s entirety and find out what the rest of the story is…

Clearly that quote in no way, shape, or form supports any of your claims, in fact it proves that although you can quote from a book, it does not prove you have the book, have read the book, or that you understand the book. Reich makes no mention of the Roswell incident as he passes through Roswell on his way to Tucson to study DOR and OR (orgone energy), all the while he deludes himself into believing that UFOs were randomly appearing all along his route and all of which happened to be using DOR for evil purposes. Once again, even if we were to pretend you were correct, we are back to problem that it is only one lonely person and it wasn’t given much attention by the public or anyone else who was supposedly there in Roswell in 1947. One person in ten years? So what!
Just because Gleason and Nixon were buddies and were photographed together, does not prove or disprove anything. You only resort to hearsay and rumor as your “evidence”, but the fact remains that neither man ever went on record as believing in the Roswell incidence, or that they ever saw the Roswell aliens. Even the rumor that they did, surfaced many long and quiet years after the Roswell incident.
Before you can “rehash the facts”, you first have to learn what one is. The only source for your information so far has been your word on it your word is not evidence, it is assertion, and proof by assertion is a logical fallacy.
