The Kecksburg UFO
The alleged crash of a UFO at Kecksburg, PA in 1965 is, in my view, one of the more intriguing alleged crashed UFO cases on record, and most definitely worthy of continued investigation.
And, as this new story demonstrates, the push to get NASA to dig further into its archives for files on the affair still continues at a steady pace.
However, I would stress that despite my intrigue with respect to what did or did not happen on the fateful day more than forty years ago, I’d still confidently bet on this “UFO” actually being some sort of space debris that had Soviet - rather than alien - origins.
Time may tell, perhaps…

“some sort of space debris that had Soviet - rather than alien - origins.”
Right on Nick. I completely agree.

Nick, you might be right about it being Soviet space debris. The only thing that’s keeping me on the fence is that there were eyewitness reports of the object changing course and appearing to be intelligently controlled as it made it’s way to Kecksburg.

Yeah, that is the one area of the case, more than any other, that does admittedly leave things open and in somewhat of a, ahem, “gray” area. Indeed, if that’s accurate then we can rule out satellite materials I think. However, if there is any chance the witnesses were mistaken in that aspect, then I think it could still be considered a man-made event.

it could have been intelligently controlled and STILL be of soviet origin. Maybe they were testing a re-entry capsule or something.
Pure speculation, I know

My favorite thing about the Kecksberg story is the enigmatic shape of the craft–the lovely acorn. Full of symbology and all that ancient sacred oak stuff is all contained sweetly. The axis mundi, daur/door to the otherworld. I love that.
