Shag Harbor at 40
For many researchers, the famous Shag Harbor case is seen as the closest thing that Canada may have had to the far more infamous Roswell Incident of 1947 (that is, if you believe aliens crashed in the desert on that fateful and fatal long-gone day). And in but a few, short days from now Shag Harbor reaches middle-age. Yep: in early October, the case celebrates its 40th anniversary. And, of course, you cannot have an anniversary without a celebration…

Very strange this should be mentioned now as I only finished up reading ‘Dark Object’ yesterday afternoon.
The book made a fairly convincing case. It will be intersting to see if any new evidence has come to light since the it was published.

I went through the area in August 2005 and all they had was a simple plywood sign and a small gazebo onsite. As an American, raised on Roswell, I was sorely disappointed. Even the next inhabitated place to stop didn’t have anything to offer to commemorate Nova Scotia’s Roswell. I expected at least an alien pin or something similar. Just my two cents worth.

Yeah, notice how these crashes happen to be at places with unfortunate names… ‘Shag Harbor’, ‘Varginha’.
It’s like they know where best to crash land so as to effect the case through intense fits of snickering everytime the case is mentioned

LOL, yes, there are some unintentionally amusing places (and people names too) within Ufology! In fact, UV and RPJ have now spurred me on to write such a piece on all this for the blog some time soon….
