Secret UK-UFO Files
“Could we have hitched a ride on UFOs?” asks Britain’s Guardian newspaper today, in what is sure to become a much-talked-about story over the next few weeks and months.
In 2006, the British Ministry of Defense released into the public domain via the terms of the Freedom of Information Act a 460-page document on UFOs. Titled the Condign Report, its release was secured by researchers David Clarke and Gary Anthony and revealed the details of a lengthy, secret study of purported UFO activity in Britain’s skies.
Dave and Gary have continued to push the MoD to release more material on Condign, the background to the study, and what it was that prompted the MoD to conduct the investigation in the first place. And, as a result of continuing to put pressure on the MoD, the pair has uncovered yet more documents that tell a highly intriguing story.
One such newly-surfaced document, prepared by an MoD intelligence division called DI55 said: “The national security implications are considerable. We have many reports of strange objects in the skies and we have never investigated them…If the sightings are of devices not of the Earth then their purpose needs to be established as a matter of priority…possibilities are 1. military reconnaissance. 2. Scientific. 3. Tourism.”
Interestingly, the MoD also notes in the newly-acquired documents: “Several aircraft have been destroyed and at least four pilots have been killed ‘chasing UFOs’.”
Ultimately, the MoD concluded that the genuinely unexplained UFOs were plasmas and not alien spacecraft - albeit plasmas of a type that could cause adverse reactions in human beings and to terrestrial technology.
I strongly suspect that we have not heard the last of the Condign Report and the background to this notable saga…

Nick,
It’s interesting how the UFO community and the media concentrated on the “plasma” angle as evidence of another coverup and seemed to forget that the report delved into many other possibilities, as you point out. As you have mentioned in the past, and point out in this post, there is a lot that they WEREN’T covering up, except perhaps their ignorance of any real reason or cause behind the phenomenon.
