Not a UFO, but…
It wasn’t a true UFO in the sense that it was piloted by diminutive guys with large black eyes, but for many it literally was an encounter with the unknown.
Read the story here.
Now, after having read the story, imagine if this particular case had occurred sixty years ago, and there was no-one around to take a photo. It might very well not have been resolved. Indeed, it might very possibly have been added to the wealth of UFO reports that have been faithfully collected for decades.
Some UFOs may indeed be actual nuts-and-bolts alien spacecraft - it’s not impossible; even though I veer more towards other explanations.
However, as this case demonstrates, just because there are unusual things afoot in our skies, it doesn’t mean that ET is about to land.
And it’s worth asking: How many more cases of a similar nature - involving people who didn’t come forward and admit their involvement - are languishing in the files of UFO researchers and labeled “Unidentified”?

Thats funny nick, hey maybe if the guy hadn’t come forward and admitted it, we would all be conjecturing that it “looks photoshop” and “what a ridiculous hoax…” and so on.

To me it looks exactly like a blimp. Some people try to hard to see something else I think.
Good point though in that something unknown in the air doesn’t necessarily have to be alien or even black project. I guess more important than what it looks like is whether it does something unusual or extraordinary to rule out something manmade.
