More Monsters, More UFOs
While I’m still on a bit of a UFOs-meet-monsters kick, I figured it might be time to inform you of something else that delves deeply into some of those cross-over cases that encompass both Ufology and cryptozoology, such as the Chupacabras of Puerto Rico - namely my next book, Memoirs of a Monster Hunter.
Although the publication date is still a couple of months away, the publisher - New Page Books - has added some new information on the book to the Amazon page where Memoirs can already be purchased as a pre-order.
Yes, I know that I’m pumping things out right now like a super-model on laxatives (although let’s hope that’s where the comparison ends!), but I figure that the data is best put out there, rather than left sitting in a filing-cabinet gathering dust. As the publisher states:
For centuries, people across the world have had a fascination with monsters and strange creatures. They marvel at the tales and legends of the Bigfoot of the Pacific Northwest; of the Abominable Snowman of the Himalayas; of the infamous and diabolical Moth-Man of West Virginia; of fire-breathing dragons; and of those dark denizens of the deep: lake monsters and sea serpents.
But do such creatures really exist? Can it be true that our planet is home to fantastic beasts that lurk deep within its forests and waters?
Memoirs of a Monster Hunter proves the answer is a resounding yes! In this follow-up to his wildly successful Three Men Seeking Monsters, paranormal investigator and author Nick Redfern chronicles his surreal road-trip through the United States and beyond in search of all-things monstrous.
His strange adventures lasted five years and saw him doggedly pursuing a menagerie of creatures, including gargoyles, giant birds, and what some believe are living dinosaurs.
Follow Redfern as he:
* Explores the El Yunque rainforest of Puerto Rico in search of the terrifying Chupacabras: a razor-clawed, glowing-eyed beast that is part giant bat and part vampire.
* Seeks out the Goat Man: a menacing creature that evokes imagery of both demons and the fabled cloven-hoofed Centaurs of ancient mythology, and is said to inhabit the forests of East Texas.
* Chases after what many people believe are real-life, flesh-and-blood werewolves that surface from hidden lairs and prowl the countryside when the Moon is full.
Part X-Files, part Crocodile Hunter with a mix of Jurassic Park and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Memoirs of a Monster Hunter takes you on a roller-coaster ride into the unknown. Read personal accounts of the monsters that inhabit your wildest imagination and your worst nightmares. The creatures you were told couldn’t possibly exist, really do.
From the Back Cover: “This is one of the best books I’ve read in years. Redfern sweeps you away on his personal adventure. Around the world, from romance, to ghastly beasts, to the cosmos, Redfern has candidly shared the wonders of his young life.”
–Joshua P. Warren, author of Pet Ghosts and How to Hunt Ghosts.
Thank god Josh Warren said I was still young! LOL. I didn’t even have to pay him either!

Technically then a “coming of age” memoir. One of my recent favs is “Shutter Babe” but I’m sure yours will rival it.

Drew:
Coming of age? Not sure about that! LOL.

OK Nick but if I ever get attacked by a monster I’m sure that Plumpy’nut will stop it dead in its tracks:

Are you going to give us the true story of that kinky photo of you and the chupa-babe in Marie Jones’ “PSIence”?

Bill

I am SO getting this! I love your books, I had no idea a new one was coming out so soon. Thanks for the heads-up! It sounds great.
BTW–you’re in Texas, right? How are things going with all the flooding? (I’m in Oklahoma, and my roof just, eh, caved in…)
Stay safe, and see you at Roswell!

Hi Nick,
Well, technically Josh didn’t say you were young…he just said you were recounting things that happened when you were young. But far be it from me to burst your bubble…
;)
As a sidenote - my emails are bouncing back constantly from your current address. Just to let you know - the FT piece is excellent, always good to see old UFO sightings chased up to check on the facts! I’ll keep you up to date with things as they progress (assuming your email address comes good!)
Kind regards,
Greg

Greg,
haha, I guess that’s right re Josh!
Good to hear the FT article is fine. Weird though re the emails bouncing as I’m not aware of other problems, and there hasn’t been a drop in emails or lack of replies from people etc.

Yeah we are in Dallas. There has been a lot of flooding here and some got it really bad. However, we live in a tiny 3rd floor apartment and have a couple of floors above us too, so in that sense we’re lucky that the rain would have to be really heavy to reach us!
