Game Over?
While they may mean very little to those that live outside of Great Britain, the words “They think it’s all over! It is now!” are known to practically the entire British nation.
Although slightly abbreviated from their original form, those same words were taken from Kenneth Wolstenholme’s now-historic BBC TV commentary that accompanied the tense, closing moments of the 1966 World Cup Final, that saw the England football team gloriously flatten, decimate, destroy and exterminate (well, you get the picture) West Germany by 4 goals to 2 after extra-time to win the FIFA World Cup.
And Wolstenholme’s famous words may soon be applied to a very different issue, too.
Twenty years after they were unleashed upon an unsuspecting UFO research community, the so-called Majestic 12 documents still provoke intense debate and controversy.
I well recall the long-gone days of 1987 when - after Tim Good published the first batch of MJ12 papers in his book Above Top Secret - all hell metaphorically broke loose, amid theories and claims that the truth was about to be blown wide open, and the cover-up would finally be over.
Of course, that didn’t happen and - two decades later - the controversy of Roswell and MJ12 still exists.
But, for some at least, the final word on MJ12 is at hand, as extracts from the following press release demonstrate:

For a while now I’ve considered the documents to be hoaxes, but I have thought that they are probably inside job.
Do you think that they are, at the very least, disinfo?

That is indeed a high possibility. Greg’s “Project Beta” book delves deeply into how the official world was engaged in cooking up bogus documents on UFOs as part of its disinfo op aimed against Paul Bennewitz.
So, if it can be done once, it can definitely be done again, maybe to steer people in a certain direction and away from something else - which was exactly the case as with Bennewitz.

It says one of the 17 docs is legit, (at least it was written by the person who claims to be the author).
But it doesn’t say which one, and you have to pay for the actual report.

I’m sure it will make a LOT of people unhappy!
However, I strongly suspect that those that consider the documents to be real will continue to do so; and those who don’t will champion this new development.
And in the UFO research community debate and argument will continue.
In other words, the same old situation!

If these documents are false then I guess everyone can go to area 51 or the hundreds of other so called secret bases for those aren’t real either. I guess those non-existant bases are probably for the elite to lie and plan another abduction of children wearing their latex alien suits. As that would be closer to the truth then there being aliens and ufos. May be wrong; but, US and CANADA have been enabling and paying these so called experts to lamb base and herd people to believe their lies and protect the mutilators. Wasn’t it Kennedy that told the people I will get to the bottom of this ufo phenomena. Then he was knocked off by his CIA Jackie double, as the real Jackie had no reason to do it; except, to protect herself from the Kennedy takedown. Yeh, okay he was out poking and probing the blonde one. That’s my opinion at the moment, til real proof is made available. Believe it or not.

OK, I just got this email from Ryan Wood (author of MAJIC Eyes Only and runs the majesticdocuents.com site). Here is his reply to my question about the claims made…

There are many problems with his claims…1) Some documents he said were written by Twining were not, 2) He used questionable “fakes” for comparison skewing the results, 3) Carol Chaski, the expert does not support his sweeping conclusions, 4) 1/2 of the analysis is for one page documents that there is insufficient document material to test with any degree of accuracy and 5) he supplied unverified text only input for the analysis.
The bottom line is that forensic linguistics are not the silver bullet of authenticity. There are many other factors to consider…
All in all, he did a very poor job of applying forensic linguistics.

The game is never over until one side or the other gives up, and that won’t happen.
Believe it or not, Bill Moore is now of the opinion that the original “Eisenhower Briefing Memo” was mostly disinfo, and I tend to agree with him. I also think that there indeed was an “MJ-12,” but it probably had little to do with UFOs. Perhaps I need to look into Ryan and Bob Wood’s work more if I am to change my mind.

I don’t see how the authenticity of the MJ-12 docs are connected to secret bases, military abductions, etc. To me, they’re all in the “maybe” box. Perhaps I’m in some sort of state of denial, but that puts me in the 99.99 percentile of the population. I figure that when I settle on one scenario in this UFO thing, that will be when I stop learning and will have been fooled by one faction or another, including the “aliens.”

It seems likely that there would be an MJ12-like group related to UFOs whether or not it was this particular MJ12. The phenomenon really gathered public & media interest between 1947 - 1952, so I can’t imagine how the government would not have a group dedicated to figuring out what was going on. (separate from the Grudge/Bluebook stuff that was manipulated for public consumption).
The only scenario I can imagine where the government would not convene such a group would be if they were behind the phenomena, and they KNEW they were behind the phenomena-
Sitting in an armchair and declaring aliens to be owls may work for skeptic-magicians, but it takes time to reach an informed conclusion. I trust my government would gather the brightest minds into cushy conference room chairs and dine them on catered lunches at taxpayer expense before allowing them to come to the nutritionally-informed conclusion that it’s nothing more than owls.

I am deeply humbled by the expert commentary provided on this blog entry. If Eisenhower and JFK are invoked, certainly we can include the rare Leftist book: “Ronald Reagan: The Movie.” How many friends do each of us know that adapt the mannerisms of the Hollywood actor most closely resembling that whom they aspire to be? Is it not a sad commentary on civilization that most ideals are limited by the mythos of the latest medium?
Cell-phone coordinated terrorism appears to be the current rage with its everyday counter-part including not-so-subtle surveillance by strangers on the street. Hot girls are always taking my photo with the cell phone, for example. Something about sitting in full-lotus that is instantly exotic. But I digress….
Those who are really cutting-edge are lining up for microchip implants so that their safety from terrorism (i.e. long lines of thugs at techno-joints) is minimized. Just who are the true aliens?
Extraterrestrials are those who still scrutinize old government documents pondering their veracity while the real humans are already microchipped and uploaded to the mothership.
We have met the aliens and they post as this blog.

This is a really convincing conclusion about the MJ-12 documents…I use to be really impressed with Stanton Friedman, but with MJ-12 & Roswell, I just think he may be full of it.(Is someone going to attack me for this opinion?)

My personal feeling is that the MJ12 documents, or at least some of them may very well be disinfo or even hoaxed.
However, I don’t see how this announcement is the end of it.
All I see is a press release that alleges that it has been proven, but the actual data is not to be seen unless you pay up.
The press release also seems to be pushing a fiction book by the person making these claims. What better way to generate sales than by making a headline grabbing claim?

You made me think that perhaps elements of the U.S. government held out this “MJ-12″ thing as a decoy, much in the way that a magician directs attention to one hand while the other hides what he doesn’t want you to see.

You may be right that the authenticity of the MJ12 docs may have nothing to do with secret bases. Yet, you and the so called 99.99% appear to be in denial. It is a wonder of where these aliens mentioned in these documents are housed. Sometimes you have to get off the fence and take the thousands of lies forced on us by so called experts to task. If these docs are proven fake this will not change the millions of experiances that have happened to the so called .01% of believers. I’d bet many of these honest folk would hope they were wrong and that they were as good of liars as our governments, military, and the not so fake list goes on. It is sad that seeing isn’t as believable now and the works of the deceivers side has more weight. I’ll even bet the real docs are probably coded and a template is needed to decifer the truth from them. For at least 15 years I have been trying to find info on the so called base on Vancouver Island. Have heard of it’s so called purpose to protect the elite; yet, it has been one of the areas hot spots for weird happenings. Plus, around the mountain it is near. So in my opinion the MJ12 docs are related in one way or another to the areas that house the info or aliens in them. Denial is a good thing when experiances of the fact has not shown it alien side.

Well it’s possibly not a safe play to use the Wolstenhome remark in making the analogy here Nick. ;>) All one can say about the 66 World Cup Final is that the better team one and thank God England got that fourth goal. It’s all about legitimacy. Did the the third one really cross the line? I guess we’ll never know for sure. But you knew, as it was happening, that when the ref went to consult the linesman that there was only one call that Tofik Bachramov was ever going to make. Could Tofik have seen the whole of the ball cross the line from where he was ? I guess it doesn’t matter now - doesn’t matter if memories of any distant events in Tofik’s mind could have clouded his vision . . .the goal stands. The end result was confirmed by that final England goal.
There are proofs, and then there are proofs. For example here plenty are prepared to breathe a sigh of relief and jump on the Heisser bandwagon. And after all a guy who is a bible professor ought to know a fraudulent document when he sees one, right?
It just shows what certainty you can evince and readily sell to the uncritical mainstream media and an ingenuous public from a nicely concealed minority sample of the documents.
