Misteranderson:
Yep, there is good evidence about UFOs being used as a cover for weapons development. Greg's "Project Beta" book covers these very issues.
I saw Rich Dolan earlier this month, and he's still working on the book, and trying to decide whether to make it a 2 or 3 volume thing, so may still be some time I suspect before the follow-on to his first one is published.

I will buy this book, but I think Stanton Friedman is wrong about the "cosmic watergate"...Does anyone consider the possibility that the US Govt is glad to have this UFO controversy continue, it's perfect cover for weapons technology development?

-Does anyone know when Richard Dolan's book is going to come out?

Although I did not listen to the Paracast interview BenDover refers to, I have noticed that Friedman cops an attitude usually only when presented with afactual, rehashings of case points (there are no firsthand witness reports of Roswell, etc...) and basic UFO debunking rhetoric. Really, after 40 years of the same old questions, what would be an appropriate reaction to 'there's no evidence' or 'why haven't they landed on the white house lawn?' Obviously, the paracast guys were ot asking trite or cute questions, but from recent interviews and writings, I get the feeling he's about done with laying the same old case out, and pointing out falsities and assumptions.

Stan is too beholden to the Extraterrestrial Hypothesis for my taste. That and the fact he buys into a lot of what I consider the more ridiculous aspects of what the person above me refers to as the "Cover-up" paradigm.
I heard him interviewed on The Paracast concerning the Betty and Barney Hill book and he seemed to get almost defensive at times. That's one thing I'm really sick of. People in ufology who are so used to softball interviews that they think every interview should amount to little more than fawning praise. If they are the least bit challenged they get pissed off and cop an attitude.

I respect Friedman, though I find myself profoundly skeptical of the
whole 'cover-up' paradigm. This does
sound like a worth-while read, though.

40 books in a given field is an achievement, AV, keep at it.

Cool! I'm always looking forward to new releases in the subject. Since renewing my interest in May of this year, I've read 40 books on UFOs and related subjects! I added it to my wish list, but mainly as a reminder. I'm sure I'll end up ordering it from his site (which doesn't mention the book that I can see) so I can get a signed copy :)

Does anyone know how Stanton is doing these days? He hasn't sounded his usual, bouyant self recently.
