Flying Saucers and Science

Flying Saucers and Science: A Scientist Investigates the Mysteries of UFOs: Interstellar Travel, Crashes, and Government Cover-Ups

Okay, I know it’s a bit early, but Amazon have already posted details of Stan Friedman’s next book, which is published next June. As you’ll see from the picture above, it’s titled Flying Saucers and Science: A Scientist Investigates the Mysteries of UFOs.

Here’s the link to the book, and here’s the background information on it:

Flying Saucers and Science is a comprehensive look at the scientific data on the flying saucer phenomenon. Nuclear physicist and lecturer Stanton T. Friedman has distilled more than 40 years of research on UFOs, and shares his work on a wide variety of classified advanced nuclear and space systems. He answers a number of physics questions in layman’s terms, and establishes that travel to nearby stars is within reach without violating the laws of physics.

Photographs of little known, far-out advanced propulsion systems, on some of which he worked, are included. Friedman also presents data demonstrating the ability to withstand high accelerations with some surprising results. He clearly shows that government policy on this subject has been to provide false, misleading claims and disinformation, and establishes that the subject truly represents a Cosmic Watergate.

Flying Saucers and Science presents intriguing data from a number of large-scale scientific UFO studies that almost no one, especially the noisy negativists, has discussed in detail. It deals with a host of “why” questions such, as reasons for the cover-up, reasons for aliens to come to Earth, and reasons for not landing on the White House lawn. Friedman unveils the SETI program, and details the antipathy of science-fiction writers to UFOs and other mysteries of the saucer conundrum. False notions about those who believe in the reality of alien visitors and the adequacy of coverage by the journalistic and scientific communities are reviewed.

In this book you’ll discover:

* What type of energy and technologies could provide travel between the stars.

* The most likely locations in the universe where aliens come from.

* Why the aliens are here.

* Who believes in the flying saucer phenomenon.

* The government’s motives to cover-up.

Readers of Flying Saucers and Science will never feel the same about UFOs again.

About the Author
Stanton T. Friedman has B.S. and M.S. degrees in Physics from the University of Chicago. He has lectured on “Flying Saucers ARE Real!” to more than 700 college and professional audiences in 50 states, 9 provinces, and 16 other countries, and has appeared on hundreds of radio and TV programs including CBS Sunday Morning, Larry King Live, Nightline, and Unsolved Mysteries. Friedman has worked on classified, advanced technology programs for such companies as GE, GM, and Westinghouse. He has done research at 20 government document archives, authored TOP SECRET/MAJIC about Operation Majestic 12, and coauthored Crash at Corona: The Definitive Study of the Roswell Incident. He was the original civilian investigator of that very important event, and also coauthored Captured! The Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experience with Kathleen Marden, Betty Hill’s niece.

Cool! I’m always looking forward to new releases in the subject. Since renewing my interest in May of this year, I’ve read 40 books on UFOs and related subjects! I added it to my wish list, but mainly as a reminder. I’m sure I’ll end up ordering it from his site (which doesn’t mention the book that I can see) so I can get a signed copy :)

Does anyone know how Stanton is doing these days? He hasn’t sounded his usual, bouyant self recently.

    …40 books… in 6 months???

    OMG! 8-( LOL!

  3. uv777bk Says:

Yeah, suffice it to say that my collection of game consoles has taken a back seat ;)

  4. craig york Says:

I respect Friedman, though I find myself profoundly skeptical of the
    whole ‘cover-up’ paradigm. This does
sound like a worth-while read, though.

40 books in a given field is an achievement, AV, keep at it.

  5. BenDoverEsq. Says:

Stan is too beholden to the Extraterrestrial Hypothesis for my taste. That and the fact he buys into a lot of what I consider the more ridiculous aspects of what the person above me refers to as the “Cover-up” paradigm.
I heard him interviewed on The Paracast concerning the Betty and Barney Hill book and he seemed to get almost defensive at times. That’s one thing I’m really sick of. People in ufology who are so used to softball interviews that they think every interview should amount to little more than fawning praise. If they are the least bit challenged they get pissed off and cop an attitude.

  6. Richelle Hawks Says:

Although I did not listen to the Paracast interview BenDover refers to, I have noticed that Friedman cops an attitude usually only when presented with afactual, rehashings of case points (there are no firsthand witness reports of Roswell, etc…) and basic UFO debunking rhetoric. Really, after 40 years of the same old questions, what would be an appropriate reaction to ‘there’s no evidence’ or ‘why haven’t they landed on the white house lawn?’ Obviously, the paracast guys were ot asking trite or cute questions, but from recent interviews and writings, I get the feeling he’s about done with laying the same old case out, and pointing out falsities and assumptions.

  7. misteranderson Says:

I will buy this book, but I think Stanton Friedman is wrong about the “cosmic watergate”…Does anyone consider the possibility that the US Govt is glad to have this UFO controversy continue, it’s perfect cover for weapons technology development?

-Does anyone know when Richard Dolan’s book is going to come out?

  8. Nick Redfern Says:

    Misteranderson:
Yep, there is good evidence about UFOs being used as a cover for weapons development. Greg’s “Project Beta” book covers these very issues.
I saw Rich Dolan earlier this month, and he’s still working on the book, and trying to decide whether to make it a 2 or 3 volume thing, so may still be some time I suspect before the follow-on to his first one is published.
