Raven

Yeah, I did read it - a long time ago. He delves deeply into various reports from around the world, but focuses more upon the physical nature of things.

For me, the person who really opened up the idea that these "things" are not flesh-and-blood entities of the type that many assume them to be was John Keel.

His books The Cosmic Question; The Mothman Prophecies; and also FW Holiday's The Dragon and the Disc are essential reading for anyone interested in such topics.

Cryptozoology wants to be accepted as a legitimate part of zoology. They see themselves investigating a mystery that does not defy any of the known laws of science. Even if we don't agree it is understandable why they do not want to be caught up in the ufo controversy. Ufologist on the other hand should investigate any evidence presented to them as the ufo enigma (or at least our understanding of it)continues to evolve. When the first reports of what seemed to be an interest, on the part of the aliens, in human reproduction many ufologist refused to believe it. When there seemed to be a religious context to some ufo events many in the ufological community dismissed it as not credible. Hybrids, walking through solid objects, levitation, telepathy all aspects of the phenomenon which were at first deemed too strange to accept.
My personal thoughts are, if we humans have proven to be so interesting to these beings then wouldn't a closely related hominid species, such as bigfoot seem as interesting to them. The capture or return of a bigfoot by the ufo occupants would be what people are reporting.

Nick,

Have you ever read Ivan Sanderson's "Abominable Snowman" book (I've only ever read references to it but never the book itself,) and if so, did his work ever indicate anything other than a physical animal for Squatch?
