Bigfoot and UFOs
Whenever Bigfoot is mentioned in the same breath as UFOs, it more often that not results in hoots of derision and the rolling of eyes. Nevertheless, there are indeed some very weird cases on record that firmly place the Bigfoot puzzle in the realm of distinct high-strangeness.
Someone who recognizes this and is not afraid to talk about it, is Lisa Shiel, author of the book Backyard Bigfoot, for which I wrote the Introduction.
Lisa has just written a 3-part article on the controversy that makes for interesting reading.

I remember watching a Six-Million Dollar Man episode as a kid with a Bigfoot, wasn’t there a ufo involved??

Thanks for posting this. I’ve only became aware of these type of cases in the past year, but I’ve since become a more of a believer in paranormal Bigfoot than flesh-and-blood Bigfoot.
There is someone in my family who insists he saw Bigfoot in my area (northeastern MA)– a fairly well-settled area. He maintains this story despite the ridicule he gets from the family (so I don’t think he’s making it up to get attention or anything like that). The area of his sighting is even more developed now, There would really be no place for such a creature to hide. If it was there, we should have found it.
Bigfoot is reported all over the country, not just in the isolated Northwest.
Either all these people are seeing things, or Bigfoot can mysteriously just come and go.
Also there’s been some speculation that the stench associated with Bigfoot is similar to the stench associated with other paranormal manifestations. The flatwoods monster had a similar stench, I believe.

Wasn’t there a C&W song about “Bigfoot Drives a UFO”?–or maybe it was a sixteen wheeler–or maybe I’m just imagining it, or making it up–or both.
But do check out that old episode of the X-Files (the best X-Files ever, IMHO) entitled “Jose Chung”–or something to that effect, which mish mashed Bigfoot with UFO’s and MILABS and even a reference to Twin Peaks.
It will ALL be explained!

I think that our hairy and elusive friends maybe an group of homonids that have eluded both humans and alien predation. It’s very possible that they can somehow mask their presence to the normal human senses but not the ufo’s who seem in some reports to be trying to capture them. Throughout human history, the tales of wild hairy giants appear in nearly every part of the globe. We find tracks and dogs who have far superior sense of smell often refuse to track them and behave fearfully when they are nearby. I think that we should trust the dogs’s judgement on this issue. If they are anything like other primates, when you see one, there’s probably several others nearby. Do you really want to mess with multiple Bigfeet?

Nick,
I’ve read Back Yard Bigfoot and recommend it highly. Ms. Shiels makes some very interesting observations about the Bigfoot creature, and makes it abundantly clear that Bigfoot is a lot stranger than just some undiscovered species of primate. Thank goodness she has the courage to not only study the UFO/Bigfoot connection, but to publish and share her findings.
What is the connection between Bigfoot and UFOs? Well at this point it’s anyone’s guess, so I’ll throw in my own thoughts. It may be that Bigfoot is much more genetically similar to us than we think. It may in fact be another species of the genus Homo (another species of human.) If people are of such interest to the alien intelligence behind UFOs, then why wouldn’t a second species of human hold as much interest. In other words the Bigfoot creatures sighted in relation to UFOs are abductees, taken against their will and then returned - with the event blocked from their minds.
Chance encounters between humans and Bigfoot is all the aliens may allow. And so they create high strangeness in many of these instances to keep the majority of people doubting the existence of bigfoot almost as much as the existence of the UFO phenomenon itself.
Then again it could be that the aliens are playing mind games with witnesses in order to confuse them and there never was a Bigfoot present.

Some other wild ideas:
Many reports indicate that the UFO intelligences (be they alien, intradimensional, or whatever) are engaged in a breeding program with humans.
Some believe they are creating a hybrid race, but I think they might just be improving our own race. They may have meddled with our DNA before or even created us from existing hominids (they may have created those hominids too).
I think this scenario could explain some of the weird anomolies in human genetic history, such as missing links, and the fact that there isn’t as much genetic variation in humans as there should be.
Anyway, the Bigfoot creature could be the missing link that they used to create us from, or they could be a failed breeding attempt, but the UFO intelligences found other uses for them (such as strong servants, according to some eyewitness reports)

Nick, one of my favorite topics! I think Lisa’s Backyard Bigfoot is a good book; her blog is very good as well. As you’ve said yourself Nick, these ‘crossover cases” can’t be ignored. It’s fascinating.
One thing that has kept me interested in this topic is the persistence of stories about this odd pairing of UFOs and Bigfoot.

People like their Bigfoot as primates, and their UFOs as metallic spaceships, and they like them as fasr apart of each other as possible. That makes sense in a 19th century kind of mentality.
But in the XXIst century it should dawn on us that reality is much, much stranger than we imagined.
Incidentally, I recommend you guys read this article about Skinwalkers. You might find it interesting and related to this discussion.

Yes, I have to agree mentioning either bigfoot or ufo’s together the eyes roll. Personally I believe them both to be a subject of themselves. With my experiances of both subjects they were not hand in hand. Not saying they don’t or do cross each others path. Nick I had been meaning to send you some ole Canadian Ufo Report mags I have laying around by John Magor. Have not been able to find a copy of a book he put out that had a picture of what appeared to be a hairy being climbing out of a hour glass shaped light on a river bank. It appears small til you read that the boulder next to it is about 4′ high. Making it over 8″ tall. I was told of a experiance someone had on a transit bus. As the bus was driving over a railroad track my friend noticed a large dark creature running down the tracks and taking a quick left at the end of the fence. At the same time the bus was passing the fence she thought I should be able to get a clearer look from the other side of it. To her surprise it should of be visible; yet, it disappeared. High strangeness yes to say the least. If many believe that the bigfoot and ufo’s are linked then you can bet the human race is part of the package. If ufo’s can transend dimensions and bigfoots too, maybe I am wrong. One thing for sure they the bigfoot are alive and appear well and more intelligent then those little pink monkeys me included.
