An Alien On Film?

As the original Alien Autopsy film becomes more and more discredited, discarded and forgotten, a new one surfaces, as John Greenewald reveals below (his post and words in italics):

The Black Vault Newsletter
March 31, 2008

I am sending out this special newsletter, to tell you about a new case file that has been added to the Black Vault Encyclopedia Project.

http://tinyurl.com/34wssx

At the end of last week, I was e-mailed a link to an alleged, new, ‘alien autopsy’ video that was supposedly put online, then quickly taken down. It was then added to YouTube recently, and I have archived it on The Black Vault for safekeeping and
investigation.

At the writing of this newsletter, I have no idea of the origin of this video, nor am I sure about its validity. Although I have my doubts, and wonder if it might be tied in to a publicity stunt by the next X-Files movie, it is an interesting case.

I say that, because of the amount of time and money this took to pull off, assuming it is a hoax. I can tell you from my own production experience in television - making realistic props like this is not cheap, nor easy… which is why I wonder if there is an X-Files tie to it.

Please note, there is no evidence to this - my opinion only. Not making Allegations! :)

Also make sure you click on the discuss link, and let us know your thoughts on the video!

Note from Nick: Frankly, I think the thing in the video is about as alien as I am (no comments, please…LOL); and no it’s not a UFOMystic-created April Fool! But a real alien? I most strongly suspect not!

I would never have imagined aliens had “rubber bones”! :-)

Nice prop, but a clear fake. And how many seconds was the “doctor” wasting moving the poor little dude’s head? I was almost expecting a “Stay still, dammit!” ;-)

  2. craig york Says:

I watched a few minutes of it, really not that engaging, but I agree with Red that its a tolerably good prop…I couldn’t help but notice that the
“sugeon”? appears to be using an X-acto
knife. ( Commonly used by hobbyists of
    all sorts, like myself. )

  3. Nick Redfern Says:

Yes, it’s a pretty good construction - but I think that’s all it is. And whoever made it ought to apply to make FX for TV shows. They didn’t do a bad job at all. Maybe they already work in the world of FX making…

Great looking prop. Does it actually have arms underneath the surgical drape? I didn’t watch all the way through, because, well–that isn’t a scalpel. Or, if it is, it is the dullest one in existence. Did you see how the “surgeon” had to saw through the “skin” to get it to cut?

Anyone here ever use a real scalpel, even on a preserved specimen for say, any biology classes? Anyone else do pre-med at one time or another?

Anyway, scalpels go through epidermal tissue a lot more easily than that. Even preserved epidermal tissue.

Also the thickness of the “skin” was out of scale to the size of the specimen. It also acted more like latex than skin in its elasticity, and other physical properties.

Though, again–this prop has better, more realistic looking details than the one in the Santilli video, which was the silliest thing imaginable. I never understood why anyone would believe it was real–the “alien” looked really fake to me, unlike an actual biological creature I could imagine.

This one looks like it could actually have once been alive. Until the “surgeon” starts sawing on it and prying the skin apart–then the realism melts away like a dream at sunrise.

Is this Greenewald’s April Fool joke?

  6. euphemystic Says:

This video is a reminder that I need to take a chicken out of the freezer.

Well, at least you gotta admit that Santilli’s dummy had a nice blood fx the moment the scalpel cuth through its rubber skin. This little dude’s as dry as ham!

And no, I did not see any arms either.

  8. bruce duensing Says:

Someone should dub in the clip..the Dave Clark Five song…Catch Us If You Can…

  9. majesticuk Says:

I agree i would pretty much say a fake although i agree with Nick if this guy is not an FX tech he should be, i don’t think the thing had any arms now that you mention it.
A cool halloween prop but that’s all in my opinion!!
