As the collective comments above show, there's definitely some heated debate and theories as to the true nature of Egyptian history.

Personally, I don't buy the ET angle; but I do think there are big gaps as far as our knowledge of what ancient man was capable of are concerned...

How about the grave of Ossiris? How does that fit into her scheme of things?

I'm not an apostle of the alien theory, but i still think there are a lot of things we don't understand about Egyptian ruins, egyptian medicine and astronomy.

For example, it's pretty amazing that egyptians had at the very least a rudimentary knowledge of electrolysis, because only that explains the way they made some otherwise impossible samples of jewelry found on egyptian tombs.

And what about that object found on an egyptian collection gathering dust on some european museum that has first labeled as a "bird" and found later it had the right aerodynamic proportions to fly as a modern glider airplane?

Never bought the "Stargate" theme but the show was fun. But If you do a DNA study, the current Egyptian populations aren't very closely related at all to the builders of the pyramids. Egypt has suffered numerous invasions from both Europe and Asia. The Ancient Egyptians are probably more closely related to the Saharan nomads or people from further upriver than Egyptian nationals. Yes, human hands built the pyramids but that doesn't exclude them from alien visitation or influence and it certainly doesn't exclude the almost certain influence of a more ancient human civilization. If our western civilization falls tomorrow what of evidence of our more advanced technology would survive even 500 years? Zahi Hawass's insistence that the ancient Egyptians had no outside influences doesn't hold water with me. The ruling and priestly classes always claim great achievements as their own especially when they steal it from somebody else.

Boy Andrew Collins won't be happy. But then Margaret did not address the whole flattened-forehead race issue. I can see that her forehead looks well proportioned so the article is not very objective.

Yeah, I never did buy into the Alien angle on the pyramids. And I'm always reminded of a quote from Red Dwarf when I hear about this...

Rimmer: "...like the pyramids. How did they move such massive pieces of stone without the aid of modern technology?"

Lister: "They had massive whips, Rimmer. Massive, massive whips."
