Wrinkly Ufologists
At his The Other Side of Truth site, Paul Kimball of Red Star Films makes some very relevant comments and sensible observations pertaining to the fact that much of Ufology is the domain of the old-fart.
But, as Paul also notes, there is some light at the end of the tunnel!
Here’s what he has to say:
“If you attend UFO conferences, you’ll notice that the people there tend to be older - to the point where I’m usually one of the youngest people in the room, which is not a good sign.
“But conferences, despite being great fun, are largely a thing of the past, a holdover from a bygone era, i.e. before the Internet (thank you, Al Gore!). They also require travel, unless you live in a town that holds one, like Las Vegas, or Laughlin, or Gaithersburg, which can be a problem for younger people, most of whom are presumably cash-strapped students.
“Another problem can be the Ivory Tower world that most ufologists live in. many eschew the Internet, and the world of blogs and message boards and the like. When they do interact with younger folks, they often come across as know-it-alls, with little patience for questions or other ways of thinking.”
And here’s the link to the rest of Paul’s post.
