Hot Pink Flying Saucers

This is quite possibly the most unusual - but from a visual perspective, massively entertaining - UFO-related book that I’ve ever read: Hot Pink Flying Saucers and Other Clouds by Gavin Pretor-Pinney.
Published late last year, the book - as you may well have guessed from its title - is full of imagery of clouds that look like anything but clouds. Indeed, as the publisher says:
“Filled with color photographs of clouds that look like poodles, dragonflies, Salvador Dali, and the Grim Reaper, Hot Pink Flying Saucers and Other Clouds is a delightful gift book from the author of the international bestseller The Cloudspotter’s Guide. Anyone who’s spotted a fluffy elephant in the sky will enjoy these clever photos taken by members of The Cloud Appreciation Society, which celebrates the carefree pastime of looking up.”
Aside from containing some truly great visuals, the book is also a sober reminder that just because we see strange-looking things in the sky, it doesn’t always follow that they are necessarily anything truly out-of-this-world.
