Wisconsin Meteor: Fear of 2012?
Signs in the skies indeed. The footage of the meteor flashing through the skies of Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin on April 14th show a stupendous flash, along with a falling orb and streak of light in at least one clip, like the one here caught by the University of Wisconsin’s web cam. Here’s a different view sent in to ABC news. The flash seems huge and weird… orbs and streaks, the sonic boom, etc. — as one person who viewed the clips with me said: “It doesn’t add up to a meteor. . . It’s not a discreet object . . . Where’s the crash site” and so on.
Not suggesting anything UFO related or paranormal, but the Fortean tinge to this is intriguing. Recent months have shown us the “Norway spiral,” the strange beams of light connected with UFO sightings, one of which was also in Wisconsin, the Icelandic volcano spewing ash into the air, affecting much of Europe, which had to cancel flights at many airports. These events as well as the very real and decidedly non-paranormal events — tragic , devastating and not fodder for the paranoid or space brother loving Disclosure types — such as the earthquakes in Haiti, China, Chile, Mexico and to a lesser degree, the Southwestern U.S. and California, does make us a little wobbly about 2012. Is there something to the prophecies? A very large part of me does not want to go there, feed into the self-perpetuating energy sucking grid of gloom and doom, fear, and paranoia. On the other hand, I think one has to be very naive, as well as arrogant, to be oblivious of these signs literally erupting all around us. Like UFOs, the fact is, they are. They’re here. Their existence is not in question. But the question is, what does it mean?

I saw one article that put it at about three feet (little under a meter) in diameter.
