Roswell: A Never-Ending Story

Over at The UFO Iconoclast(s) I have a new article titled Why Roswell Will Never Be Solved.

And, with a blog-post title like that, you might think I have given up the hunt, lost my enthusiasm, or taken on a decidedly pessimistic approach to Roswell. I would, however, strongly disagree. Rather, my words are borne out of what I would say is a realistic and practical approach to the Roswell debate – or, perhaps, the Roswell problem is a better term.

And here’s why I am certain that Roswell will never be resolved.

There is nothing to solve where nothing has ever been demonstrated to have happened.

The original Roswell news article was a long dead and forgotten accounting that was resurrected and remade in the late 70s into Roswell: The Greatest Show on Earth! It was an event of little worth or note until the ex-nuclear physicist, UFO ringmaster Stan Friedman decided to sensationalize it with a book 20 years after the newspaper accounting. Stan was lucky enough to arrogantly bask in the lime light for a number years, before other people wanted hop on the cash cow, and then overran and discredited Stan’s own storytale with storytales even more ludicrous than his own. I mean, what HASN’T happened at Roswell?

Of course, *ALL* the stories completely contradict the one and only original story that they are based on, The Roswell Daily Record. If it weren’t for the Roswell Daily Record, the Roswell would have continued to remain the unknown that it had before Stand discovered it 20 years after-the-fact.

In the end it was all very entertaining but science is not about entertaining, it is about facts, and Roswell is not about facts. There are no smoking guns or dead bodies to be found; Mr Mustard didn’t do it with a candlestick in the library because nobody was at home at the time. Roswell is a dead end story that will die with nothing but dead ends associated with it.

    Long live Roswell!

Well I posted this on abovetopsecret and had a field day with the “true believers” (when I used that term everyone got hot under the collar! haha).
