Timothy Green Beckley on Radio Misterioso Sunday
Beckley on a recent episode of UFO Hunters
Sunday night my guest will be Timothy Green Beckley, who may still go by the “Mr. UFO” handle. When I got back into UFO stuff in the late 1980s (after a hiatus since elementary school) Beckley’s name came up all the time as a publisher of strange and perhaps even disreputable UFO literature through his “Inner Light Communications” imprint. Have you heard of “Commander X?” We’ll ask Tim who this mysterious character was and how he was able to write so many titles such as The Reality of the Serpent Race, Underground Alien Bases, and The Secret Plan of the Evil Shadow Government.
OK, I made that last one up, but Tim has been around the scene since the 1960s, when he met the original contactees, partied and organized UFO conferences with Gray Barker and Jim Moseley, and was thrown out of the NICAP office by Richard Hall for some sort of ridiculous tomfoolery.
He has also published lesbian vampire magazines.

Well, I’d call in if I could find or hear a phone number. Good to hear Tim Beckley, though–great hero of UFO publishing! I’ve been in a couple of his books and we met once in New Jersey. High five, Tim!

That was great Greg. Has to be one of the easiest interviews you’ve ever done. You just call the guy up and let him go. HaHa! I easily could have listened for another hour or two. So many great stories. What a life!

Yeah, Tin Beckley is like the comic book geek of UFOlogy. I hope he has all those pubs bagged and boarded!

Well when he wanted to “toot his own interplanetary horn” — after that it was like he hit the warp drive button! haha. Still I found a video interview which was fascinating, and another site pissed off about him including the fake alien autopsy dummy in a book (so that it joins the ranks of another “e.t. race”).
The fine line between Brad Steiger’s “pastoral” approach and Green Beckley’s porn-approach to the paranormal — meets on Conspiracy Journal.
My favorite line was when Beckley stated: “well we found that serious books don’t sell.” What serious books? haha. I mean apparently the opposite extreme was the answer!
I do like that Beckley goes out of his way not to dismiss crazy stories as the delusions of the mentally ill. Certainly it’s the “rationalists” who are the reptilians in the end.
