Former AEC Supervisor Said Roswell Was ET

AtÂ UFO Chronicles, Robert Hastings reports that a government contractor admitted to him in 1998 that the Roswell crash was of an extraterrestrial craft. The revelation occurred in 1953 and was delivered byÂ General William Blanchard.

Blanchard is known to students of the Roswell Incident as the Base Commander of the Roswell Army Airfield in 1947. The contractor, Chet Lytle, admitted to his own UFO sightings as well, significantly one at Kirtland Air Force Base when an atomic weapon was being loaded into a bomber. He was told to keep quiet about the sighting. Lytle apparently served as an official with the Atomic Energy Commission for a time.

Of course, this adds to a slowly-growing list of testimony that indicates that the Roswell crash was indeed of an ET craft, although there is no real evidence that would convince most people. It also again begs the question of using the UFO angle as a coverup for something else. The story will probably never be solved, although I predict that if it is, it will be in a way that no one has guessed at as yet, and includes at least parts of everything that has been uncovered to date, from Bill Moore and Charles Berlitz’ 1980 book that started the whole thing and gave it a name to Nick’s Bodysnatchers In The Desert.

To Hastings’ credit, his conclusion is open-ended:

To date, Lytleâ€™s assertions about the recovery of an extraterrestrial spacecraft are unsupported by declassified documents or, in the case of his conversation with General Blanchard, the testimony of other witnesses. As such, they must remain, for the moment at least, in the realm of highly-credible but still-unconfirmed anecdotal evidence.
