Flying Saucer Music #35

I’ll bet that red Commie don’t think they’re funny now!!

More flying saucer-themed music continues to trickle in, this time courtesy of Mr. Fab from the fabulously entertaining blog Music for Maniacs.
Once again, no information available on this one, but it is a catchy number, recorded by a Dr. Danny Hart who apparently ran an outfit called the “Church of Soul-Truth.” With a name like that, you know they had to be fun. Mr. Fab sent along this info:
There’s no info on the guy. Just “Dr Danny Hart, Founder and Minister, The Temple of Soul-Truth, 801 S Wilton PL, LA, CA 90005,” liner notes from Hart mostly of a religious nature, and “Original compositions by Dr Danny Hart with His Own Vocal, Piano and Organ Accompaniment.” No date. A vanity release with a generic cover, on the “Soul-Truth” label.
P.S. Music For Maniacs has just posted the full recording of contactee Howard Menger’s 1956 record Authentic Music From Outer Space (which I have in the past described as “depressed organ grinder music”) but you get to hear Menger talk about his contacts with the space brothers!

It is a great tune, one of my fave thrift-store finds. Gonna swing by that address and look him up?
“depressed organ grinder music†= ha!

Mr. Fab,
Thanks again for the mp3. Yes, I’m going to look him (or the address) up in the next few days. You don’t live that far from that address either, do you?

Dear Space Brother..
When are you going to upload all your Radio Mysterioso shows!? You must have hundreds of them recorded, right?
Have you considered selling them on a DVD if you don’t plan on making them all available via download?
Love the show.. love the music.. just want MORE!

You’re very welcome! Don’t live near there, no, actually I’m in the Valley, but that’s near MacArthur Park, if I’m not mistaken. So he may have melted in the dark.

Mr Fab,
I checked Google maps street view for that address. It’s now the Korean Presbyterian Hosanna Church. I wonder if Dr. Danny Hart and his congregation built that Romanesque facade? (You have to click around the corner to south Wilton to see the front of the church.)
