I don’t know what the consensus is. Since he is not a classically trained scientist, I don’t think those who are take him seriously, and he doesn’t have a following in the UFO community for perhaps the same reason. I prefer to reserve judgment and simply listen.

If nothing else, he is a repository of UFO history from one who was there. That in itself makes getting his thoughts and memories down in an interview important to me.

We did talk about the release of his films and videos. He doesn’t want to do it until they are presented in an official format, whether that be as part of a formal paper or complete program is up to Ray.

We were discussing his work on Project Starlight when the recording choked. I’ll record it live with a CD recorder as well next time.

I’ve seen Chris O’Brien’s summary about Stanford’s presentations with all his footage so I was wondering if the truncated audio contained you asking him where is this stuff, when is it going to be made available to the public, etc.

On one hand it seems they were pretty serious about instrumented research and on the other there is like a black hole of disinterest about Stanford from the ufo community as far as I can tell. There are a few docs on NICAP’s site and his Socorro book but not much else.

What gives?

Ive never heard of Ray before, what the general consensus on credibility? I only ask that because he was making some fairly extreme claims about sightings, psychic stuff and documented evidence.

Speaking of evidence, Greg did you get a chance to ask if any of his ‘flying saucer’ videos are online?

Ray had some fascinating stories too, although I couldnt help but think that the one about his friend who got abducted and then his car was dropped onto the rocks, might have been a case of his friend covering for himself after an accident.

The story about the artist making the medallion for the ‘out of this world’ girl was fascinating.

Yes, the audio ends abruptly because the automatic recorder cut off an hour and a half into the 2 1/2 hour interview. I don’t know why, and it’s never happened before! I apologized for it in the write up at the Radio Misterioso site. He’ll be on again.
