RPJ,

Aww, now you've taken all the mystery out of it! It could very well have been tempered glass, but there's no real way for me to check, as the people moved out of that home years ago.

I'm glad you're listening to the shows! I get no feedback from anyone on any of them, so I don't know what people think, apart from the fact that there are annoying technical glitches.

Greg T,

None that I noticed. We went to the same restaurant both times I met with Keel, so it would have been easy to track him/ us down!

Ok, first: that's a REALLY cool photo there, Greg.

Second: Totally unrelated, but I'm just hearing your Radio Misterioso interview with Richelle Hawks, when you're telling your weird experience with a glass you were washing that suddenly exploded for no apparent reason. Ok, hearing this it reminded me of the few experiences I've had in my profession with tempered glass; you see, the molecules in tempered glass are at a constant state of tension, so the moment there's a small fracture in the integrity of the glass, it won't fracture or break like regular glass-it explodes as a result of the tension release.

So tempering glass is pretty standard for plaques intended for windows; but what about appliances? Well, right now I'm doing a little googling, and it turns out you CAN find tempered glassware. Like this tumbler from French company Duralex.

Was the glass you used and wee washing tempered glassware? I dunno, but the glass defiitely behaved like tempered when it breaks.

Anyway, I wanted to share that with you. Saludos :-)

Damn. That's one for the album Greg! Though I hope there were no odd-looking men dressed in black sipping Jell-O lattes sitting at the table with you...
