One of my favorite characters has to be Jeron Criswell King, a pop psychic who was active in the 1960s and ’70s. Most of you probably know that he was in schlock director Ed Wood’s stable of “actors,” and appeared in many of his disasterously wonderful films, notably Plan 9 From Outer Space and Orgy of the Dead.
Here he is on the Tonight Show from December 31, 1965, making predictions of dude/ nude ranches, discovery of the hollow earth, and an American on the Moon by the end of 1966. Carson gets in some good zingers without making fun of old Criswell.
I think poor Criswell confused 1966 with 1969 when he predicted a man on the Moon, and further confused 1966 with 1996 when he predicted a fashion of nose-rings for men and women

RPJ,
Oh, but Mae West said that he was 90% correct in his predictions!

Ben,
How did this manifest? Was he on the show making fun of parapsychology all the time?
