Something strange is going on, but it hasn’t got anything to do with UFO’s. Have you seen the Sun’s UFO section lately? My eyes haven’t stopped rolling…!

there’s no doubt that the Chinese Lantern phenomenon plays a fairly significant role in today’s UFO sightings in the UK.

A number of cases that were assumed to be UFOs have been shown to be lanterns - to all but the those of an “I want to believe” nature.

Last time I was in the UK (last summer), a mate of mine got married and they let off some of the lanterns.

There’s no doubt that if you see 3 or 4 together, as I did, it can create the image of a solid object in between the lights - because that’s how the eye sometimes interprets things.

Apparently the story of the UFO that “attacked” a police helicopter that was about to land might—and I stress the word might here— have a mundane explanation. It could be the UFO was nothing but a chinese lantern, and in the video released you can plainly see the object is cylindrical and not saucer shaped as it was reported earlier by the media (Sorry, Nick Pope). I’m still somewhat confused by the movement of the object, although some posit it is an illusion provoked by the “retargetting” of the object by the camera aboard the chopper. What do you think?

And yes, the video taken by the soldiers is interesting too.
