I agree i would pretty much say a fake although i agree with Nick if this guy is not an FX tech he should be, i don't think the thing had any arms now that you mention it.
A cool halloween prop but that's all in my opinion!!

<i>"I never understood why anyone would believe it was real–the “alien” looked really fake to me, unlike an actual biological creature I could imagine."</i>

Well, at least you gotta admit that Santilli's dummy had a nice blood fx the moment the scalpel cuth through its rubber skin. This little dude's as dry as ham!

And no, I did not see any arms either.

Great looking prop. Does it actually have arms underneath the surgical drape? I didn't watch all the way through, because, well--that isn't a scalpel. Or, if it is, it is the dullest one in existence. Did you see how the "surgeon" had to saw through the "skin" to get it to cut?

Anyone here ever use a real scalpel, even on a preserved specimen for say, any biology classes? Anyone else do pre-med at one time or another?

Anyway, scalpels go through epidermal tissue a lot more easily than that. Even preserved epidermal tissue.

Also the thickness of the "skin" was out of scale to the size of the specimen. It also acted more like latex than skin in its elasticity, and other physical properties.

Though, again--this prop has better, more realistic looking details than the one in the Santilli video, which was the silliest thing imaginable. I never understood why anyone would believe it was real--the "alien" looked really fake to me, unlike an actual biological creature I could imagine.

This one looks like it could actually have once been alive. Until the "surgeon" starts sawing on it and prying the skin apart--then the realism melts away like a dream at sunrise.

Yes, it's a pretty good construction - but I think that's all it is. And whoever made it ought to apply to make FX for TV shows. They didn't do a bad job at all. Maybe they already work in the world of FX making...

I watched a few minutes of it, really not that engaging, but I agree with Red that its a tolerably good prop...I couldn't help but notice that the
"sugeon"? appears to be using an X-acto
knife. ( Commonly used by hobbyists of
all sorts, like myself. )

I would never have imagined aliens had "rubber bones"! :-)

Nice prop, but a clear fake. And how many seconds was the "doctor" wasting moving the poor little dude's head? I was almost expecting a <i>"Stay still, dammit!"</i> ;-)
