Groundbreaking Research Still Widely Ignored
George Hansen has recently called our attention to the work of the Archaeus Project, which was active thoughout the 1980s. Headed by Dennis Stillings, Archaeus examined the fringes of theories on UFOs and the paranormal, and published their findings in a yearly journal.
Some may argue that articles like “Tesla’s Self-Sustaining Electrical Generator and the Ether” or “Ufology Considered as an Evolving System of Paranoia” are neither relevant or interesting to those interested in “answers” to the questions raised by anomalous phenomena, but Archaeus researchers and authors looked at the subject from a fresh perspective. Ufology and paranormal research have poor records when it comes to original ideas, and Archaeus was there to stir things up. Its impact remains underappreciated and ignored while ufologists interview more witnesses with the same questions and television hosts tramp through haunted houses looking for flapping sheets and flying silverware.
Hansen, who was a contributor to the Archaeus Journal, chronicles the fascinating history and accomplishments of the group in his blog entry, and concludes:
The Archaeus Project was far more successful, and made more of a contribution, than the vast majority of groups devoted to the paranormal. It left a legacy of written materials that chronicled paranormal activities and commented on many facets, often with considerable insight. Despite its successes, it displayed the manifestations of anti-structure typical of paranormal groups.
The issues now available online are a valuable resource and should be viewed by anyone interested in the undiscovered world around us, as are issues of the Zetetic Scholar, Marcello Truzzi’s groundbreaking journal which has been mentioned here before. Thanks are due to Hansen for providing this invaluable resource.

Now that I know about it, I’ll stop ignoring it. I’ll also make a point of mentioning both on the air as Precognitive Dissonance returns to the Aether tonight. ( You do have a standing invitation to appear as a guest, you know. )

Greg: Thanks for posting this mention of the Tesla article. I had corresponded with Hansen several times and then after we discussed Stillings a bit I made a trip to the Bakken library with the goal of reading these back issues! No luck, even though it’s just on the other side of the lake I live next to. haha.
So that Tesla article is really fascinating — especially with the CIA’s Puharich tie-in since he was co-author of the “actual Matrix plan” for the World Institute, as per my research. Such a plan had been recently promoted indirectly by John Casti and George Johnson, both writing out of Santa Fe for the military labs — Santa Fe Institute (quantum chaos systems theory) and Los Alamos. I give the details in my mothershiplanding.blogspot.com
