Alien Autopsy - The End?
Well, after more than a decade and countless claims and counter-claims re fake vs. reality, the controversial saga of the notorious “Alien Autopsy Film” may finally be rumbling to a close, as this exclusive story from Britain’s Philip Mantle - who was the first to dig deep into the affair, and stay the course, too - amply demonstrates.
I well recall the wave of excitement, interest, skepticism and hoots of derision that circled around Britain’s UFO arena back in the 1990s when news of the film first surfaced.
Of course, despite various attempts to lay the matter to rest (such as in the big-screen comedy-drama movie, Alien Autopsy, starring Brit TV personalities Ant & Dec), the footage still has its believers.
However, as you’ll see from the story above, the source referred to by Phil Mantle appears to be the one person, more than any other, who can nows firmly lay the whole thing to rest.
Or will he….?

Didn’t Santilli admit that it was a fake. Or was I just reading between someone else’s lines?

UV:
Well, this is what makes it interesting:
Santilli did admit that the film was, ahem, a “restoration.” And he admitted that one of the people on board for the restoration was a chap named John Humphries.
What’s curious, however, is that this new person cited in Phil Mantle’s article was never mentioned publicly by Santilli as being involved; and yet the new chap seems to have had a truly integral role in it all.
That’s why it seems to be very much an unfolding puzzle.
Santilli’s statement/confession re a restoration of the footage, seems to be far less than the full story told in this new account.

The Jellybags did it — everyone knows this, especially Brad Steiger.

I don’t understand one thing: this guy Melaris must have known that Santilli was making tons of money wit the selling of the Autopsy video, and yet he remains quiet because of this non-disclosure agreement he is bound by. Ok, I would understand that, and if I were in his position, I would be pissed, but remained calm until I were able to make my move against Santilli.
But, for the life of me, I can’t understand why he would keep working for Santilli on other projects?. Who would keep working for a man you obviously know is scamming you and profitting from your work, without you seeing a single nickel? Either Santilli is a great con-man, or Melaris is a VERY understanding an unmambitious individual.
That being said, I obviously consider this whole thing a great big hoax, but it amazes me how many ripples it made on global popular conciousness.
And I wish him all the best to Melaris with his upcoming book, although I seriously doubt he will see A TENTH of what Santalli made back in the 1990s.

Santilli milked this for all its worth, although from the outset he never denied the motive behind it was money.
Spyros’s Book should be a worth while read, hefty price point though (must have learned something from Santilli!)

So the point has been made that the autopsy footage was based on real footage. So why is it I have’t heard any mention regarding why the aliens eyes blinked when the full eye contacts were removed in the footage. I was one of those that bought a copy of the original video, what was weird when that part came up on the original video it looked like a skip in the film/ video. It wasn’t until a friend of mine downloaded it to a old slow 386 computer that the eye movement was noticed. It was like the speed was turned up for that part. It sounds to me even if it was a copy or remake from a bad original all that are involved should be held accountable. Personally I have no problem for the way liars live their lives and my lose of 30 bucks has not harmed me. The problem is those that have experianced weird phenomina are hurt more by these liars. You can bet I won’t waste money on Melaris’s book if he was ripped off by Santilli he should get the money off of him, not those that search for answers due to their own real discomforting experiances. The truth is out there even if the blinded believe differantly. I have no pity for liars especially when it takes years for them to come out of the closet to sell a liars’s so called truth for profit.

Dave:
I know the issue of whether Santilli could be held legally accountable in some way has been discussed, but not having much knowledge of this aspect of things, I’m not sure if this has been taken any further, or if it’s just been dropped.

Nick,
I do tend to get rilled, my appoligies. There has been ample time for these clowns to show or give proof; yet, I’d like to see this 6 toed and six fingered kid that the cast was made from. Any way I just have to say that when X-files verbally stated it was fake in one of their shows; their own representation of a dead alien was far worst then the one they stated was fake. So if the alien was a fake how did they get that eye effect to happen then try to hide it. What I have read on the net no one appears to want to mention this part just that the video is fake. From what I’ve seen Hollywood doesn’t like competition and there is a free license to debunk things with on going misinformation. Fake or not hollywood is part of the problem to the on going search for the truth. I may be wrong; yet, what I’ve seen makes me see in a differant light. You guys still have a great blog keep up the search for truth.

No need for apologies at all - the day that ufology no longer provokes a good old fight (albeit not literally…or maybe!) and intense debate is the day we need to admit it’s not worth bothering with anymore!
There’s no doubt that there are a few things about the AA film that keeps some still believing that it’s real, and that the confession story is the hoax.
There’s no doubt it’s a bizarre old story whatever the truth. I’m betting this new book will keep the debate burning for a good long time to come.
Cheers for the blog comments, too.
