Hey Ben

Yeah, that is the same show. Josh is a good friend of mine and we've done a few gigs together (see www.dark30tour.com) as well as the Discovery show.

No, unfortunately, it never was broadcast. But you're right: there was some real weirdness. We held a midnight seance in the old Hangar 84 at Roswell as the psychics in the team (Laura, Karyn and Heidi) tried to contact the dead Roswell entities.

Yep, there was some very weird stuff recorded on-screen: something odd flying across the screen and one of the cameramen collapsed.

The paranormal interests me greatly. My book "Man-Monkey" is heavily paranormal based, and details why I am convinced that Bigfoot is a paranormal (in simplistic terms) creature, rather than just some lumbering ape hiding our from society.

I'm working on a new book right now that follows a similar path: links between the paranormal and mystery animals. Should be published later this year.

Hey Nick, you mention a Discovery Channel program from 2005 about hauntings at Roswell. Did this program ever air? The reason I ask is because I recall hearing Joshua Warren talk about such a program at the time, saying some interesting footage was taken at a seance in one of the old hangers, and then nothing more was heard about the program. I was really intrigued but I don't think the program ever aired. Is this the same program?
Finally, this is kind of personal, but does the paranormal just not interest you that much- just wondering if we might ever see a paranormal themed Redfern book on the horizon?

Thanks for that Nick.

Oh, and changing the subject completely for a moment, did you know that your book is a required reading at U. Maine? Congrats!

RPJ:

To the best of my knowledge, the first time the case surfaced into the UFO community was in July 1993, when a report on the matter - from a source unknown - was mailed to a US researcher named Elaine Douglass.

The text of that same report was published in Leonard Stringfield's "Status Report VII" in 1994.

The complete text of the report, and the story of the event as it was known at that time at least, can also be found on pages 177 to 182 of Ryan Wood's 2005 book, "Majic Eyes Only."

The story has appeared periodically in magazines since 1993 - but Torres and Uriarte are the first to dig deeply into it all.

Well, it sounds like an interesting case, and I would like to know when it surfaced. Back in those days (1970s) the highest UFOlogy authority in Mexico was Pedro Ferriz Santacruz, a personal friend of Dr. Hynek who had also good public relations with mexican president Echeverría Alvarez; so if there was someone the mexican government would have contacted if there was a military operation to retrieve a crashed UFO, my guess is Ferriz would have been it.

But I don't remember him mentioning that particular case, and I have read some of his books, I watched the programs of the second version of Un Mundo nos Vigila, and I even attended 2 conferences in the 80s where he appeared.

And that OMIFO group? never heard of it. Although I'm certainly not the leading authority in the comings and goings of UFO investigation groups here in Mexico, of course. But it is kind of disapointing to note that their webpage (www.omifo.net) it's pretty neglected.
