Texas UFOs

Strange things are reportedly afoot in the skies of a little Texas town - according to some, at least. This story is all over the Net right now and seems to have been picked up by just about every conceivable news service out there.

With its references to strange flying objects, reports of military jets in hot pursuit (claims denied by the Air Force) and “End Times” comments, this story has it all and is, I suspect, likely to run and run for quite a while.

The Mutual UFO Network is apparently already on the case, so we may hear more soon.

And here’s what Fox News has to say about it.

I think the recent NPC thing with the pilots, Symington, etc. has left people feeling less embarrassed to talk about such things.

We can only hope, however, that some of the cases turn out to be good ones. This one looks like it has legs, though.

You’re not up for a road trip and a bad motel?

  3. Nick Redfern Says:

LOL, normally I would be. Ironically, I’m doing a UFO/crypto lecture at Denton Library here in TX tonight, so I’m guessing I’ll get quite a few questions about it! Then I leave town for a few days of work, so unfortunately it would be at least 10 days before I could get there, and I think with Mufon on it already a “wait and see” approach may be best. Then if it all looks substantial I may well take a trip out.

This area of Texas has long been known for strange happenings. Aurora is less then 100 miles from the area. Native Americans tell of ghost or spirit sightings in this region going back centuries. If archeologists are half correct, this is one of the oldest permanently occupied areas of North America with humans beings staying in the area for over 11,000 years.
Folks there aren’t prone to drinking or fantastical tales. From what I’ve read and heard on the news, this distinctly seems like some form of secret military aircraft flying from the nearby Fort Hood, which is 340 square miles where whole tank divisions have successfully hidden from Soviet spy satellite while performing maneuvers in the field.

Well, except for the Fox’s smart-ass (this guy acts exactly the same everytime a fringe subject is covered) I think the reaction by mainstream media has been pretty good, don’t you think?

Let’s see how this story develops, and hopefully some folks that attend your lecture might give you more relevant first-hand info Nick.

Coolness — I was just reading about this over at the Globe and Mail earlier. They’ve also got an AP video on the story. :)

  7. Richelle Hawks Says:

From what I’ve seen and heard, I think it’s an angel.

I know “everythings bigger in Texas”, but a mile long? I think somebody would have seen something that big when it was still in orbit…( yes, I know-I’m
still clinging desperately to the ETH. )
