Presenting…The UFO Horse!
Here’s a strange video of something that appears to be a horse flying through the skies, probably over Mexico. If it’s a fake, it’s a pretty good one. If that camera caught something “real” floating around, it doesn’t look like a balloon. That sounds like Jaime Maussan on the soundtrack.
What it appears to be is something like the “flying men.” A new twist in the developing legend, perhaps?

I’m guessing it’s a hoax but it’s definitely a creative one if it is!

That ain’t no horse, it’s PEGASUS! Actually, it’s a big bird, like a buzzard riding the thermals, so there is no need for it to flap it’s wings. I see turkey buzzards doing this all the time.

Yep! that’s Maussan allright, doing his usual gig at the TV show “Otro Rollo”, which was one of the most popular programs in mexican television from the past half decade (especially among the younger audiences). The host of the program, Adal Ramones, always loved to bring Maussan to show his weird videos.
Program is no longer on the air, but not because it was cancelled or anything -Ramones decided to move on with his career, he even appeared in the mexican version of the play “The Producers”.
And as far as the video goes, I really don’t know what to think. Maybe some kid put his toy horse on the air with a string and made a joke with it, but it certainly seems like a weird idea.
Maussan is maybe very close to being a charlatan and has lost a lot of credibility (in my eyes at least, I used to idolize him!), but that doesn’t mean some of the stuff that people send him is not genuine.

Ben,
I know that there are thermals that have been clocked at 10,000 feet per minute, but would that keep a horse in the air?

RPJ,
Maussan is probably the Larry Flynt of UFO Porno, but as you said, that doesn’t mean he didn’t get a few “real” videos.
It’s so easy to kill the messenger, so that’s why I try not to do it most of the time.

What about a kite? We had one that was in the shape of a dinosaur. Why do you think it doesn’t look like a balloon? Whatever it is, it seems like a fixed structure; there’s no movement in the horse’s position at all. Even horses being lifted by a helicopter move their legs around.

Richelle,
I can’t tell from the video if the object is a kite, but there’s a good chance that it could be! In that case, there may be no hoax at all–just someone taping something strange without checking it out.
There are remote controlled flying lawnmowers, doghouses and even witches after all.

Interesting. I do love this kind of thing - most recently this from Poland:

As I mention there the Mexican flying “witch” you link to was revealed to have been “faked” (it was edited down from a linger video which makes it clearer it was a balloon):
