massagefellow,

Always nice to see new commenters on the site. Welcome!

In your case the MIBs might be Military In Black. More UFOs covering up experimental aircraft, perhaps.

Much activity has been seen here in the Exeter section of Rhode island, people being turned away from the southwestern general area around the intersection of 102 & rt. 2. Black triangles and the like, military people threatening friends and people I know. This has a military base, a small one, in the area. Multiple sightings, many not reported out of fear. We dont want the MIB visiting us.........

disowned,

You're right about the moon, but clouds aren't round, don't move at high speeds (if Joe was watching the same thing after coming back outside)and don't have multicolored flashing lights.

I'm confused about how he could have made the "two moons" interpretation, since the moon was nowhere near full on 13 December.

The description of shadows is too vague, but it sounds like a cloud.

Or, as my case demonstrates, a somehow twisted, inaccurate relaying/presentation of information.

Richelle,

I guess NASA wins this round.

Perhaps Steve's memory is wrong, but the fact you may not have had your glasses on may mitigate this somewhat, but it may also partially explain the "strange objects parked in orbit" subject: Perhaps the anomalous thingies are a result of poor optics in the telescope that guy is using.

Well, so much for the accuracy of my memory. I asked steve to recount the sighting and he said: 'It looked like a really bright star, kind of a pinpoint, moving slowly across the sky.' I remember it totally differently. He tried to help out by saying I didn't have my glasses on. I remember a shape and multiple lights, and a fast movement. It's kind of alarming having a memory that you know is probably completely false.

That's certainly sweet of you. I certainly am not intentionally confabulating, but it's highly posible that I am interjecting features into my memory. I clearly recall being able to make out an oblong-ness, other shapes attached to it, and there were multiple lights. I was with Steve Wagner, the absolute most rational, non-confabulatory person I have ever known, so I will ask him for clarification on the sighting. I'm in the foothills of Salt Lake--would altitude affect a viewing?

RPJ,

He said that he was so amazed that he didn't think about his camera until it was too late.

I read about Strieber's sighting. Sort of reminds me of Terence McKenna's South American sighting of an Adamski-type craft. He theorized that something was playing a cosmic joke on him.

Richelle,

Here's a description from the NASA website:

A typical sighting looks like this: A dim speck of light--the space station--appears near the horizon. It brightens rapidly as it glides overhead, leisurely crossing the sky in 3 to 6 minutes. You can't see details like solar panels with the unaided eye, but the station is nevertheless beautiful. At its best, it can outshine every star and planet except the sun and moon. More often it looks like an ordinary bright star--eye-catching because it moves.

However, I'd trust you before NASA any day. If you see it like this again, try and get a picture.
