However, I suppose we could equally say that there were probably countless other people who were involved in these incidents, and who also told their families, but where that had no real effect on the people who were told.

Then again, ufology does seem full of odd synchronicities and fate-like happenings…

At the time he told me about it (and even today he says the same if asked) all he could say for sure was that over the course of several nights, very fast moving objects were tracked over the North Sea, the pilots who had been scrambled to intercept reported the UFOs playing a kind of cat and mouse game with them (slowing down, speeding up etc), and that he, his colleagues etc were all warned not to talk about what had occurred, and the radar tapes were taken to an office of Scientific Intelligence for analysis.

He heard no more about it and did not hear any of the analysis results.

If asked for a specific opinion on what he thinks was responsible, he admits he doesn’t know. He won’t say it was ET; although he’s highly doubtful of the idea that it was the Russians or some “secret weapon” theory.

To him, it was (and still is) a weird experience that was recorded on radar by independent radar people, that was the subject of aircraft scrambling, and visual sightings of weird lights by the crews, and a degree of cover-up in the wake of it.

He isn’t keen on trying to make a conclusion - chiefly because he hasn’t got much to go on.

He looks at it now as just a weird experience that happened to him 55 years ago and that he’s unlikely to ever get an answer as to what happened.
