Scanned through the comic book pages they had and recognized the artwork of Dan Spiegle, who was a regular at Dell/Gold Key back "in the day". Pure nostalgia. I'd forgotten a lot of the trivia about that show. Didn't recall the little finger being "deformed", though. My recollection has always been that it was rigid and unbendable. We used to do imitations of that at school to see what kind of looks you could get from people. Was easier to pull off than having a pair of tv antennae come up out of your head like Ray Walston on "My Favorite Martian". LOL. Interesting site there. On the television show the alien doppelgangers were perfect except for something about their hands, as I recall. Seems like they could not bend one of their fingers (little finger?) at the appropriate "human" joints and that's how you could tell "them" from "us". That could be the "crooked hand" reference in the song and thus would seem to, indeed, tie this spoof to the Thinnes t.v. show.
