Stop! A huge red flag should immediately go up right here. A questionable source allegedly mails a copy of a unverifiable document to a Hollywood producer? What scientific purpose could a Hollywood producer serve? None whatsoever. The junk mail of someone’s mailbox is hardly considered a ‘legitimate scientific source’. Any reasonable person, much less a scientifically-mindful person, would reject any such material from the outset.

The MJ-12 documents were riddled with scientific gaffs and blunders from the beginning, so how could any reasonable person take this stuff seriously? Maybe because the UFO community does not know how to be reasonable?

I suppose there could be a conspiracy to undermine the credibility of the UFO community, I mean, I’ve read how the CIA went to a lot of trouble to create the grocery store tabloid National Enquirer, in order to promote the giggle factor for legitimate UFO sightings and researchers. Why would the (once) credible CIA go to such enormous lengths to discredit UFOs, if they weren’t real (or real important) to begin with?

So while I am disgusted with the whole MJ-12 fiasco, I do not condemn everyone involved for it, for they may be victims of a conspiracy. On the other hand I see it as a “fool me once, shame on you — fool me twice, shame on me”. Let’s hope that everyone involved learned their lesson and won’t be taken in again. There would be no excuse then.

Certainly, there are a number of significant things in the report that I would disagree with too; however, for anyone with a deep interest in the MJ12 saga, it IS required reading - for the sake of just trying to get a full historic picture, and the revelations from the Pratt files and tape-recordings, if nothing else.

Sorry, Nick, but I could have missed this. The treatment of the CT memo alone was just enough to be annoying — this time the memo was too similar to a previous one, instead of too different from others. Not a mention of the Lew Douglas memo.

The telltale stylistic detail that shows this kind of thing up as self-aggrandizement is the “well, folks” statement, and then on to some condescending remark. It’s hard to take it seriously as research, especially when the author hints that he knows the real truth about Roswell, but just can’t reveal it here.
