Good sleuthing, but why did they put up the image if they didn't think it would look anything like the finished project? Perhaps for publicity, which you suggest, but maybe for some other reason, which paranoids and/ or saucer cultists will be able to supply.

Blended wing designs are one step beyond simple flying wings, which were notoriously unstable. The F-117 (Stealth Fighter) must be flown with computers assisting the pilot becuase of this. This is why I threw in the Avrocar reference.</description>

Just one more example of using the saucer motif as a pitch, I guess. Pretty
art, but nothing I've read in the last thirty-odd years suggests that the
saucer is a viable shape for atmospheric
