Paul,

We could argue this forever.

The devil's deal was made, and Ufology is the better for it, I think. Comparing Moore's thought process and reasons for doing what he did to Linda Howe is apples and oranges to me. The "meltdown" was a warning, delivered in a rather arrogant way, but he DID tell what he had been doing, as opposed to others who had similar deals and never said a word.

Suspicions and the actual truth of the matter re: MJ-12 are completely different things.

I have mentioned this before, but I realize it's difficult for me to step back from the story, as I am sort of involved in it. Moore may have been lying to me for years, but I don't think so, as I have been able to check on some of his recollections. Also, his extensive research into such things as the Newton/ Gebauer episode were valuable in rooting out the eventual truth.

If you are going to include Phil Klass on both lists, there should be parity in the selection process with others.

As with other things, we should agree to disagree, and go out for a beer.

Thanks for the plug, Greg.

As for the Moore inclusion in the Hall of Shame, the Bennewitz story alone merits it... and then there's the 1989 MUFON melt-down, and the reasons why (hanging out and cooperating with AFOSI - that makes him as lacking in judgment as LMH). And then there's MJ-12, which many people think he had a hand in, either directly or indirectly. And on and on.

Bummer....

I wanted to vote for Ruppelt and MacDonald and they'd only let me go with one. Oh well, maybe one of my guys will hit the second five.

As for Klass , I'd say they should set up a third category called the "Disinformers Hall of Shame" and let "Philly-Baby" , Ed Condon, Richard Doty, and Donald Menzel lead the way in.

Nope, he was indeed in both lists. Depends on your point of view I guess, but suffice it to say that he wasn't exactly pro-ETH.

Was Phil Klass's name really on both lists? Or am I just seeing things due to a mirage of the planet Venus refracted through swamp gas that was ignited by ball-lighting?
