Crashed UFOs in Print

A new book - Mexico’s Roswell by Ruben Uriarte and Noe Torres - has just been published on the Chihuahua UFO Crash story of 1974.

This is a case that was the focus of a History Channel production some time ago, and has been discussed briefly in several books and publications; however, this is the first full-length study of the incident.

I haven’t read the book yet; but intend on doing so.

As the publisher states: “On August 25, 1974, along the Rio Grande River near the Texas border town of Presidio, a thunderous explosion in the sky shattered the stillness of the warm summer night.

“An unidentified flying disc traveling at 2,000 miles per hour collided with a small airplane heading south from El Paso, Texas.

“The flaming wreckage of both aircraft fell to the Mexican desert and immediately became the object of an intense recovery effort by military forces from both Mexico and the United States.

“This new book reveals, for the first time, the shocking story of that night’s historic events, as two governments raced to a remote corner of the Chihuahuan Desert in an effort to recover evidence of a technology from beyond the stars.

Mexico’s Roswell: The Chihuahua UFO Crash is now available for online purchase ($13.95) from VBW Publishing of College Station, Texas.

“A graduate of Cal State University at Hayward with a degree in Psychology and Latin American Studies, Ruben Uriarte has been a member of MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) for over 20 years and is currently state director for Northern California. Formerly a state coordinator for Crop Circle Phenomena Research International and research director for Beyond Boundaries, a UFO tour company, Ruben is now the liasion between MUFON and its counterpart in Mexico, OMIFO. Ruben has been interviewed about UFOs on many radio and television programs, including the History Channel’s UFO Files.

“Noe Torres holds a Master’s degree in Library Science from the University of Texas at Austin. His first book, published in 2005, was titled Ghost Leagues, and his second book, published in March of 2006, was Baseball’s First Mexican-American Star. In addition to his sports-related books, he is working with Ruben Uriarte on a series of UFO-related titles.”

For more details on the book, here’s the official website; and here’s where you can buy it.

    Ah, the viscisitudes of language:

    Nick, never mind, “Aye chihuahua!”

I’d just been reading some other blog, (Cabinet of Wonders, I think) about people being abducted by Space Brains and Galactic Octopuses, and the likes, and so I immediately thought this was go’n'o be a story about rows of cute but dead little Space Chihuahuas lying on the ground alongside their bone-shaped UFO they’d been trying to bury in the ground or something.

Then, to my disappointment, I realised you were only referring to Chihuahua the place.

But then that set me off on another line of thought:

What if some of the ‘extraterrestials’ really were pooches, (or at least poochoid)?

People say, if they’re really here, why don’t they come out in the open?

But would they be so hypothetically ‘open’ and ‘inviting’ if, when they did come out, it turned out they were giant shrimps with eyeballs on stalks?

But even if they were poochoid and looked dead cute like vertical Lassies, would people be so keen on them if their customs required reciprocal hoisting of noses up each others’ jacksies, followed by a sessions of licking each others n*ts?

…actually, I can think of a few people who might just go for that, including a few hostile non-believers!

It never ceases to amaze me the things that swirl around the Borky brain! LOL.
