More on the Roswell UFO

Over at UFO Updates, for the last couple of days there has been a renewed debate on the never-ending saga of Roswell - with some of the comments focusing on the memories, testimony and activities of one Sheridan Cavitt, a former employee of the 1940s Counter-Intelligence Corps, and surely one of the most intriguing characters in the Roswell affair.

If you don’t know who Cavitt was, you definitely should.

Although it’s now a few years old, Bruce Maccabee wrote a paper that was solely devoted to Cavitt and his involvement in Roswell, and that is as fascinating today as it was when it was written. Check it out.

And with the 60th anniversary of the world’s most notorious alleged UFO crash coming in July, no doubt the case will be the subject of still further debate and controversy. Indeed, the fact that yet another book on all-things Roswellian (this one written by Don Schmitt and Tom Carey) is just around the corner, absolutely guarantees it.

Hey Nick — an old high school friend just came out with a documentary on Unit 731. He mentioned to me about traveling to Japan and China for filming so you may want to see this!

Here’s a related story from near my neck of the woods. A plane crashed in 1947 near Kelso, Washington; reputedly part of a saucer retrieval unit carrying debris from a downed alien craft, the plane has been missing for 60 years. It’s wreckage has recently been rediscovered.

Read about it here along with the local news video clip.

  6. Nick Redfern Says:

    Raven:

Yeah this is related to the Maury Island case of June 1947, in which two USAF guys allegedly carrying debris from a UFO crashed and were both killed.

The UFO angle is a weird story that some see as a hoax, some see as real, and others see as a Government psy-op.

A great book to read on the whole controversy is Kenn Thomas’s “Maury Island UFO.”
