Clinton Library Will Not Release UFO Files

A recent article at Newsday.com, reports that the Clinton library in Little Rock, Arkansas, is not releasing files to researchers and journalists. With Hillary Clinton’s expected Democratic bid for next year’s election looming, this is not surprising.

While this may have more to do with politics than UFOs, this paragraph is worth noting:

It will be interesting to see if one particular researcher obtains his documents for reasons that go beyond politics, not to mention the solar system. No less than 77 of the FOIA requests - about a quarter of the total - are from UFO researcher Grant Cameron, who wants, among other things, “all files related to UFOs, Roswell, N.M., or flying saucers from the files of Hillary Clinton.” It’s not clear whether Cameron’s request will be granted.

Actually, if the library and the Clintons want to confuse the issues further, they should supply UFO-related files to Cameron.

The article also reports that the former first couple may be in luck due to an executive order by George W. Bush from 2001 that extends the exemptions for release of files from presidential libraries from the previous limit of 12 years after a President has left office to what is now an indefinite period.

    Greg, Nick and all …

Consider the following 1998 document when thinking about the release of information by our (and other) governments:

“The use of the Internet could reduce the unrestrained public appetite for “secrets” by providing good faith distraction material”

“A strategy could then be devised by DoD and the components, based upon this evaluation, to implement a coherent and complimentary plan to achieve the declassification goals. For example:

=> Diversion: List of interesting declassified material - i.e. Kennedy assassination data.”

    Greg, elfis,

Very interesting. Elfis, your comments are a good reminder about why we’re reading what we’re reading. (Not that we know all of the why, . . .)

All ties in nicely too with Greg’s book Project Beta — I’m still reading it. (It’s only taking me so long because I’m also reading other things and have the distraction of a “real” life, work, all that boring stuff. )
