Worlds Before Our Own

This just in from Patrick Huyghe and Dennis Stacy at Anomalist Books: “Yes! Our reprint of Brad Steiger’s groundbreaking book, Worlds Before Our Own, is here. This edition features a new Foreword, which serves not only to explain just how controversial this book was when it first appeared but also updates it with some new evidence for the existence of a global prehistoric civilization. Brad will be making a tour of the airwaves to promote the book in the coming month (including Rense on April 13), so don’t miss him!”

Anomalist Books continue: “The evidence Steiger had amassed for such a claim was based primarily upon finds of ‘erratics’, mysterious ‘man-made’ artifacts found in the deepest, most primordial geological strata. When Worlds Before Our Own was first published, it was met with scathing reviews — even demands that the book be taken from the shelves and burned. Steiger’s desire to determine humankind’s true origins has always been one of his greatest areas of interest, and he was shocked that both the scientific and religious establishments had reacted so negatively to the theories put forward in the book. Hostile reviewers fumed that Steiger had no right to reveal archaeological discoveries that could threaten the traditional timetables of human evolution. Eventually critics began to hail the book as ‘mostly brilliant’ and ‘daring,’ and in the past couple of decades the concepts first presented in Worlds Before Our Own have garnered tremendous critical and popular support. This is the book that started it all.”

Well, if that has got your interest, click here to buy the book.

  1. Bill Hancock Says:

Yep, every bit as much a pivotal event as Frank Edwards’ “Stranger Than Science” in paperback (which post-dated, but was more accessible than the books of Fort). Steiger has always been a good and thought-provoking read. Had one of these years ago and made the big loan-out mistake. never saw it again. Time to re-load.

  2. Greg Bishop Says:

I hazard a guess that there are hidden clues to the UFO mystery in this book as well. Steiger’s book is one I haven’t read, but his ideas have been mentioned numerous times before and after the publicaiton of “Worlds Before Our Own.” I am intrigued and will obtain a copy.

Nick, apropos of influentiality, I have great hopes this prospective ‘Napoleon Dynamite’ version of your ‘Three Men…” will lead to a deep sea change in public perceptions that paranormalists can be cool, rock and roll flavoured blokes, instead of the usual nerdy geeks - if they don’t deviate too far from the book, but even more importantly, don’t deviate too far from you!

The clue to whether things’re go’n'o work out is if they start renaming your characters: will they make you, for instance, a ‘Napoleon Solo’*, a ‘Napoleon Bonoparte’, or a ‘Napoleon Bonehead’?

Personally, I suspect you’re a bit of all three!

*[I was always an Ilya Kuryakin man, meself!]

  4. Bill Hancock Says:

LOL!!!! Alan, you’re a scream! From one Ilya Kuryakin fan to another, Bravo!

Might be risky being “Solo”. Remember, Ian Fleming gave them that name to use (as he did “April Dancer”), but he used it himself, first (without the “Napoleon” first name). “Mr. Solo” was the gangster who had a “pressing engagement” with the auto-crusher in “Goldfinger”.

I, too, hope these Hollywood types have enough sense to keep close to the book…though they may well re-name you in the movie. Let’s also do hope that “Fighting Girls Monthly” (or whatever) stays in the picture….and by NO means should they drop Mother Sarah! That old crone has become an icon for me!!!

    Bill

    Bill:

If it actually happens it will be intriguing to see if and how things are changed or stay the same. Definitely unknown territory!
