Flying Saucer Music #5
(When You See Those) Flying Saucers by the Buchanan Brothers

Georgia’s Buchanan Brothers, Chester and Lester, are known primarily for their post-World War II songs Atomic Power and the gospel followup There’s A Power Greater Than Atomic. After the novelty of the Bomb wore off, the bros. released this ditty in the first year of the modern flying saucer era. Topical as hell for the time, and one of my favorites.

Awesome! I’ve been saving these mp3s to play for my modern US class when we get to the Cold War period. I played them “Space Mice” as a teaser. Some were impressed, some were confused. Keep them coming!

Firkon,
I’m very happy to hear that you’re using the music to confuse young minds. Lord knows that they need it.

Glad you enjoyed it. Check out the four other songs that I’ve posted. I’ll put up another this weekend.
