Leaked News Footage About O’Hare UFO
From Anomaly TV’s website, a link and commentary on this apparently leaked video from a local Chicago news broadcast. Before the live feed begins, the newscaster banters about the sighting with the Chicago Tribune’s transportation writer John Hilkevitch, who broke the story on January 1st. Miles Lewis of Anomaly TV points out, “Curiously, the footage ends with an unidentified male voice beginning to say, “It would’ve landed but, um …”
In the video, Hilkevitch says that the story got more hits (over 1 million) than any other in the history of the Tribune website. Are people ready for this kind of information? In an open-minded follow-up story, Hilkevitch appears to think so. I’m not sure, but I think it’s still rare to find a UFO story in the print media without the smirk factor present. For now, we’re still dancing around at arm’s length with the “UFO Means Extraterrestrial Spaceship” idea.
Although I initially paid little attention to this story, it may turn out to be a landmark case. Unfortunately, I also think that like other important and well-documented multiple-witness incidents, it will disappear into history with the same effect as others that Ufologists thought would be the one to “blow the lid off” of secrecy and public acceptance of the phenomenon. I tend to agree with Whitley Strieber and a few others that the powers that decree acceptable reality (let alone the public) will need a massive shift in priorities and mindset before anything changes–even with multiple witnesses, even if unequivocally clear pictures come to light.
At that point, we will start the long, slow process of integrating all sorts of separate realities into a non-judgmental and syncristic whole, where the paranormal is not “para-” anymore.
And Ufology will still not be very important. In fact, it might be even less important because perhaps it won’t be needed anymore, at least not in its present incarnation.
All that aside, kudos to Peter Davenport of the National UFO Reporting Center and John Hilkevitch for their efforts to bring this event to international attention.

It seems to me that the u.f.o. phenomenon itself provides skeptics with a means to deny its existence. Is it just coincidence that so many sightings occur while other mundane occurrences are happening? U.f.o.s are seen when military flares are dropped, when a soviet satellite fall from its orbit, during meteor showers, etc. Clearly these mundane events are not what witnesses are seeing and reporting, but it provides a convenient explanation for the anti u.f.o. camp. It may be that the power that decree acceptable reality is the phenomenon itself.

There is an interesting first hand witness account of the O’Hare sighting HERE on the ATS message boards. The entry is dated 1/14/2007 with a time stamp of 7:08pm. It’s about 1/3 of the way down the page.
Notably, this is a United Airlines employee who was told by United’s management (as a group of employees) not to discuss what they had seen, then warned a second time later:
“Then the sups came and talked to all of us that we cant talk about this to anyone or we’d get fired. They said something about federal regulations and unauthorized reporting of false airspace breeches.
Last week, the sups came down again and reminded everyone about the regulations.”
If this post is genuinely what it purports to be it provides compelling support for the idea of official evidence suppression in the form of JANAP 146(E) or something very similar.

I’ve watched that very interesting news clip which looks unscripted and natural. And it seems they’re reacting to visual material from O’Hare.
But the actual sighting seems to have a curiously staged quality to it, as if it was a psychological experiment. I’ve no doubt that people at O’Hare saw an object but the blackout on photos suggests a military security operation.
I’m coming around to Mac Tonnies’ contention that the official response to UFOs is based on them being an unknown terrestrial phenomenon that shares our planet. In many ways this is more disturbing than the idea that we’re being visited by small groups of visitors from remote stars.
A terrestrial-based group that can invade US airspace, stage a show over a major airport and then depart at high speed is surely more threatening than traditional “aliens”.

If it is military-inspired then it would more than likely be a PsyOps than a test of hardware. If Uncle Sam has some new-fangled gadgetry and he wants to test it in secret there are many remote locations to do so that really would keep it secret. Sending a vehicle over one of the largest, busiest airports in the world and hovering it for all to see before flying away is not very conducive to maintaining secrecy. On the other hand, if it’s not the gadget that’s being tested, but rather the reactions of the witnesses and perhaps the media, then it makes perfectly good sense. Just another rock in the pond to see what ripples it generates.

I definitely take your point on the PsyOps (perhaps it’s all that our supposed military UFOs are good for?!).
But O’Hare could also be a PsyOp to cover up a militarily embarassing public UFO demonstration by exploiting the human deference to authority. (e.g. the ‘baggage handler’ who wrote into AboveTopSecret said they were being silenced by their supervisors)

As far as the psy-ops issue of ufology is concerned, there is an interesting little story that few have taken any further than what is known thus far. But it is worth pursuing.
At the official website of the National Security Agency, there is a section where you can download the UFO files of the NSA that have been declassified via the Freedom of Information Act.
One of those documents is a translation of a March 12 1968 Russian news article titled “Flying Saucers? They’re a Myth!” that had been written by Villen Lyustiberg, science editor of the Novosti Press Agency.
The article includes a small piece on the alleged crash of a UFO on the island of Spitzbergen. It states: “An abandoned silvery disc was found in the deep rock coal seams in Norwegian coal mines on Spitzbergen. It was pierced and marked by micromoeteor impacts and bore all traces of having performed a long space voyage. It was sent for analysis to the Pentagon and disappeared there.”
Just another crashed UFO story? Well, the Spitzbergen case is one well-known in ufology, wiith debate as to its authenticity or otherwise having gone on for years.
But here’s the interesting part: the Army, CIA, and State Department have all declassified their own copies of this document. However, the NSA’s copy differs slightly.
In the NSA copy, someone has circled the section on Spitzbergen with the word “Plant.”
Is this an indication of a psy-op perhaps? Plant a bogus crashed UFO story and see if Russian spies come snooping? Or maybe it was done to test public reaction?
We don’t know. But someone at the NSA seemed to know enough to make the “Plant” comment. Makes me wonder how many more cases out there have a psy-ops angle to them

It would be interesting to know the intended meaning of the word “plant” in the document.
Was that some analyst, noting his suspicion that the report in general was a disinformation plant?
Was he jotting down a jogger note to himself to use the document as a plant in some future operation?
Was he acknowledging that the disk was a plant in an of itself, either by us or by the Soviets?
It could be taken any number of ways.
I’m curious about something. Since research and publishing in this field is your stock in trade, when you run across a piece of material such as the one you mention, and you decide its of value to pursue, what steps do you take, and how do you proceed from here?

You’re correct: we don’t know precisely what this means, other than that the analyst linked the case with a “plant” in some respect, at least.
How do I proceed in situations like this? Well, where possible I try and track people down.
I’m not shy at all about phoning old-timers in the military or intel world up and asking awkward questions. If that doesn’t work, I’ll think of other, sometimes less conventioal routes. In England (which is much smaller of course), if I got the phone slammed down on me by someone I knew was involved in official clandestine UFO studies, I’d drive to their house and knock on the door.
Some might see that as harassment. I see it as taking an unconventional appoach to get answers; because in a subject like this (appropriately!) convention doesn’t work.
The Freedom of Information Act was useful before 911, less so now.
In fact, I FOIA’d for the release of this Spitzbergen document with numerous other government agencies. All of them released their copies to me; but the NSA version was the only one with the “plant” wording. Suggesting (but not proving) that it was within NSA that this was done.
Often in cases like this, you reach a dead-end (as I have here, unless someone reading this knows more about the specific “plant” quote), but I just try and keep pushing, keep tracking down retired people who may be willing to spill the ufological beans and then follow their leads, and on and on and on.

I know this is hard to believe but by now, the Feds are begging the visitors to please stop making themselves as visible as they have been lately. They believe it’s too early for full disclosure. This is because some in power believe it’s too early to start to share in some of their technologies with others. I myself can actually understand why we wouldn’t share a technology that could be used as a weapon against the U.S. at some point if disclosed.

Close Encounters is a landmark Science Fiction film, particularly notable for its portrayal of extra-terrestrials as benign, even kind, which was a sharp departure from the “evil monster” style of most earlier films. It popularized a number of motifs, most of which were drawn from a wide variety of public reports of UFO encounters: alien abduction, small and thin aliens (“greys”), and UFOs covered in lights rather than the disc shapes popular in the 1950s and 1960s. The moral contradiction between the aliens’ benevolence and the forced abductions they conduct is left unexplored.
The enigmatic title refers to the three “kinds” of “close encounters” with aliens, as categorized by the noted UFO investigator, Dr. J. Allen Hynek who defined Close Encounters of the First Kind as “Sighting,” the Second Kind as “Evidence,” and the Third Kind as “Contact.”
Josef Allen Hynek (May 1, 1910 – April 27, 1986) was a U.S. astronomer, professor, and ufologist.
He is probably best remembered for his UFO research: Hynek acted as scientific advisor to three consecutive UFO studies undertaken by the U.S. Air Force: Project Sign (1947-1949), Project Grudge (1949-1952), and finally, Project Blue Book (1952 to 1969); for decades afterwards, he conducted his own independent UFO research.
In 1973, at the MUFON annual symposium, held in Akron, Ohio, Hynek began to express his doubts regarding the extraterrestrial (formerly “interplanetary” or “intergalactic”) hypothesis. His main point led him to the title of his speech: The Embarrassment of the Riches. He was aware that the quantity of UFO sightings was much higher than the Project Blue Book statistics. Just this puzzled him. “A few good sightings a year, over the world, would bolster the extraterrestrial hypothesis – but many thousands every year? From remote regions of space? And to what purpose? To scare us by stopping cars, and disturbing animals, and puzzling us with their seemingly pointless antics?” (Stringfield, Situation Red, 40-42).
In 1975, in a paper presented to the Joint Symposium of the American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics in Los Angeles, he wrote, “If you object, I ask you to explain – quantitatively, not qualitatively – the reported phenomena of materialization and dematerialization, of shape changes, of the noiseless hovering in the earth’s gravitational field, accelerations that – for an appreciable mass – require energy sources far beyond present capabilities – even theoretical capabilities, the well-known and often reported E-M (sc. electro-magnetic interference) effect, the psychic effects on percipients, including purported telepathic communications.” (Stringfield, 44)
In 1977, at the First International UFO Congress in Chicago, Hynek presented his thoughts in his speech “What I really believe about UFOs”. “I do believe,” he said, “that the UFO phenomenon as a whole is real, but I do not mean necessarily that it’s just one thing. We must ask whether the diversity of observed UFOs . . . all spring from the same basic source, as do weather phenomena, which all originate in the atmosphere”, or whether they differ “as a rain shower differs from a meteor, which in turn differs from a cosmic-ray shower.” We must not ask, Hynek said, what hypothesis can explain the most facts, but we must ask, which hypothesis can explain the most puzzling facts. (C. Fuller, 156-157)
“There is sufficient evidence to defend both the ETI and the EDI hypothesis,” Hynek continued. As evidence for the ETI (extraterrestrial intelligence) he mentioned, as examples, the radar cases as good evidence of something solid, and the physical-trace cases. Then he turned to defending the EDI (extradimensional intelligence) hypothesis. Besides the aspect of materialization and dematerialization he cited the “poltergeist” phenomenon experienced by some people after a close encounter; the photographs of UFOs, some times on only one frame, not seen by the witnesses; the changing form right before the witnesses’ eyes; the puzzling question of telepathic communication; or that in close encounters of the third kind the creatures seem to be at home in earth’s gravity and atmosphere; the sudden stillness in the presence of the craft; levitation of cars or persons; the development by some of psychic abilities after an encounter. “Do we have two aspects of one phenomenon or two different sets of phenomena?” Hynek asked. Finally he introduced a third hypothesis. “I hold it entirely possible,” he said, “that a technology exists, which encompasses both the physical and the psychic, the material and the mental. There are stars that are millions of years older than the sun. There maybe a civilization that is millions of years more advanced than man’s. We have gone from Kitty Hawk to the moon in some seventy years, but it’s possible that a million-year-old civilization may know something that we don’t … I hypothesize an ‘M&M’ technology encompassing the mental and material realms. The psychic realms, so mysterious to us today, may be an ordinary part of an advanced technology.” (C. Fuller, 164-165)

In his recent autobiographical book, Forbidden Science, Vallee summed up his views about the provenance of UFOs, a viewpoint that he’s developed through decades of research: “The UFO Phenomenon exists. It has been with us throughout history. It is physical in nature and it remains unexplained in terms of contemporary science. It represents a level of consciousness that we have not yet recognized, and which is able to manipulate dimensions beyond time and space as we understand them.” So much for anti-gravity-powered starships ferrying Big Brothers from outer space. Vallee thinks UFOs are likely “windows” to other dimensions manipulated by intelligent, often mischievous, always enigmatic beings we have yet to understand.
Vallee moved to America from his native France in the early 1960s, as young astronomer-turned-computer scientist. Vallee pioneered the use of computers to analyze and categorize the UFO phenomenon, and his 1965 book, Anatomy of a Phenomenon, is still considered one of the most scholarly books on UFOs ever written. At Northwestern University, Vallee assisted Prof. J. Allen Hynek, the academic consultant on the Air Force’s infamous Project Bluebook, now seen by most saucer students as either a half-hearted government effort to address the UFO craze of the 1950s and 1960s or a full-blown coverup. While working with Hynek, Vallee and his wife, Janine, compiled the first-ever computer database of UFO sightings.
In 1969, Vallee published another groundbreaking book, Passport to Magonia, in which he collected a body of folkloric “myths” that read remarkably like modern UFO encounters, from Celtic tales of fairyland abductions to Biblical passages and medieval chronicles of “visitors” from beyond. Building on Carl Jung’s thesis that UFOs are a sociological phenomenon, a product of the collective unconscious, Vallee forever left behind the space-bound E.T. theorists. But his folklorist’s approach to the problem would influence a number of later researchers and writers who continue to echo his ideas about other-dimensional forms of consciousness. “Some of the people that Burl (Ives) knew were good friends with Ronald Reagan. He was able to confirm information that I had heard from other sources. For example, I have met two people who were with Ronald Reagan during the screening for “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” by Steven Spielberg. This movie is actually a documentary or docudrama, since most of what is depicted came from Air Force files that Spielberg secretly had access to at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Ronald Reagan turned to the people who were at the screening at the White House and said, “There are only a couple people in this room who know how true what this movie is portraying is.” This was repeated to me by two seperate witnesses.
Most people don’t realize that one of the chief control points for the (UFO/ET) secrecy is the mobbed-up culture of money and corruption in Hollywood and the big media. It’s very much infiltrated by interests of the “national security” shadow state.
Ofcourse, when you’re someone like Burl Ives, you know everyone and everyone knows you. So, one meeting led to another, and I ended up meeting a number of celebrities. What I found from some of these meetings was that the UFO matter was an open secret – people knew it was real and that there had been assassinations and murders to keep it secret. Hollywood and the entire film and media industry was mobbed-up, top down, with control points that had become more and more entrenched, as time went on.
I learned from a number of people that you can’t really do films on the subject of ETs anymore unless there’s a heavy militaristic, xenophobic overlay. We went from “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” and “E.T.” to movies like “Independence Day” and silly things like “Men In Black” or “Mars Attacks”. These movies all have an invasion or military conflict theme. These covert interests want the populace brain-washed via this type of propaganda to the falsehood of “alien hostility”. “In the spring and summer of 1994, I started reaching out to some other folks who were involved in overseas operations related to UFOs. And one of them was “S.A.”, a crown prince.
A friend of his, who was also interested in what we were doing and was very supportive, suggested that I talk to him and felt that we should get together. Prince S.A. was also friends with Laurance Rockefeller, and as it turned out, had been pulled into the Col. MK/ General T.E. / W.B. shadow cell operating here in the United States.”
“We had a frank and courteous exchange of ideas, and then we agreed to disagree. It was clear that the Prince viewed the ET presence as something to fear and hate – and that he supported military action against them.
But in the course of this, he told me, “President Bush (senior) wanted to do this, as well. Around the time of the end of the Cold War, a group that I was involved with that included Gorbachev, President Bush, the United Nations Secretary General, Perez de Cuellar, were meeting to plan the release of this information to the public.” This was in 1989. He said, “But one night, during a late night planning session in New York, the Secretary General of the United Nations, Perez de Cuellar was coming back from meeting where the plans were being put in place to make this announcement about ETs, and a UFO appeared, stopped his motorcade, and abducted him out of the limousine! They took him on board the craft, and told him that if they didn’t stop this plan to disclose the extraterrestrial presence, that every world leader involved, including the United States president, would be abducted and taken off this planet and that they would stop the process!”
This is the famous case where an abduction researcher talks about a major international figure being abducted, along with a civilian who witnessed it. What they didn’t know is that I knew people in the cell operating the alien reproduction vehicles and the psychotronic weapons systems that were set up and conducted this abduction. In fact, a relative of the infamous red-headed sergeant at Roswell who threatened everyone, was there to coordinate the event. He was inserted as part of the security detail for the Secretary General, and he set up the electronics at the site of the Secretary General’s motorcade, so that this late night pseudo-abduction of the U.N. Secretary General could take place.
The goal of this operation was to stop this entire attempt by the world’s power elites, including Gorbachev, to disclose the truth to the world.
Now, Prince S.A. really thought it was an alien abduction, just like he thought his brother was abducted by aliens. He didn’t know that those abduction events are paramilitary operations run by humans, using things that look like UFOs and even having creatures on board that look like extraterrestrials but are either disguised humans or manmade creatures.
This is called ’stagecraft’, and I have a document that describes these operations. It is from one of the private institutes involved in the simulation of alien abductions. Every year since 1954, the secretive Bilderberg Group (named after the hotel they first met in the Netherlands), comprising elite powerbrokers from Europe and North America, has met to discuss, and influence, the changing global, political, economic and social landscape. Dotted amongst the usual suspects of Rockefeller, Kissinger and Soros etc. we see the presence of renowned Hollywood filmmaker Steven Spielberg. Spielberg attended the 1999 Bilderberg meeting held at Sintra, Portugal. What business does Spielberg, a chieftain of the ‘entertainment’ industry have secretly mingling with international bankers, military intelligence and world political leaders?
Since the 1970’s, Spielberg has directed or produced seven of the top twenty grossing films of all time. Throughout his career we see an obsession with the alien/UFO/space theme. From the 1977 Close Encounters of the Third Kind to ET in 1982, to Deep Impact in 1998. All depict an invasion from outer space. Even the movie Jaws is littered with shooting stars and strange lights in the sky.
In February 1997 a leading light in the British film industry leaked the story that Spielberg and executives of his company DreamWorks had secretly met with senior Pentagon officials in Los Angeles. The officials told Spielberg to “stop everything” and produce a movie whose subject matter involved meteors and/or comets. One year later Deep Impact was in the can. The film describes a comet hurtling towards earth and the fight for who has the privilege of access to an underground bunker.
Who were these Pentagon officials and why were they so eager for Bilderberg asset Spielberg to produce a movie about a threat from outer space?
Commencing in December 2002, the SciFi Channel will screen Taken, Spielberg’s 20 hour mini-series focusing on alien abduction. The cost of this production was a staggering $120 million – making it the most expensive mini-series in television history. You’d think Spielberg would by now have tired of the genre, but his elite controllers are really zealous to implant this alien paradigm in the minds of the masses.
Furthermore, Ray Santilli’s infamous 1995 ‘Alien Autopsy’ footage now widely accepted as a hoax can again be traced back to Spielberg. The film became all the rage in the international UFO community, with half the specialised publications featuring Santilli’s alien corpse on their front covers. However, Santilli now appears to be just the front man for the real owner of the film. Santilli admitted in a BBC interview that the money behind the film came from Germany. French network TF1 subsequently reported that the film originated from an individual by the name of ‘Herr Volker Spielberg.’ TF1 tried to track this man down but he proved elusive.
Spielberg is clearly a tool of the elite. His work in Hollywood propagates the reality of an alien presence that has been imbedded in the body politic. This has been a success. Recent Roper polls tell us that 80% of the American population believe in UFO’s.
In conclusion, consider the comments of UFO researcher Jacques Vallee:

Henry Kissinger, a member of the Bilderberg Group, CFR and Trilateral Commission raised suspicions that the New World Order would play the fake ‘alien card’ in the future when he made the following statement at the 1991 Bilderberger conference held in Evians, France:
“Today, America would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order. Tomorrow they will be grateful! This is especially true if they were told that there were an outside threat from beyond, whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples of the world will plead to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well-being granted to them by the World Government.”
Years previous to this however, the premise of an ET menace that would bind civilization into accepting a one world government was raised, on more than one occasion, by President Ronald Reagan.
Ronald Reagan’s Universal Enemy
The Federal Emergency Management Agency, FEMA, was conceived in the Nixon administration. The Carter administration further developed the program but it didn’t really get teeth until Reagan stepped into office. From 1982-84 Colonel Oliver North assisted FEMA in drafting its civil defence preparations. Details of these plans emerged during the 1987 Iran-Contra scandal. They included executive orders providing for suspension of the constitution, the imposition of martial law, internment camps, and the turning over of government to the president and FEMA in the event of a national crisis.
In April 1984, President Reagan signed Presidential Directive Number 54 that allowed FEMA to engage in a secret national “readiness exercise” under the code name of REX 84. The exercise was to test FEMA’s readiness to assume military authority in the event of a “State of Domestic National Emergency” concurrent with the launching of a direct United States military operation in Central America. This much desired emergency never came, despite several provocations.
Reagan was instrumental in creating the framework for a police state. However, one could never be realized without the added ingredient of a hostile universal threat.
This potential (as in potential to be created) threat was identified by Reagan on no less than four public occasions. On September 21st, 1987, Reagan told the United Nations General Assembly:
“In our obsession with antagonisms of the moment, we often forget how much unites all the members of humanity. Perhaps we need some outside, universal threat to make us recognize this common bond. I occasionally think how quickly our differences worldwide would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world.”
Reagan repeated these sentiments to reporters as he left the White House for Chicago on May 5th, 1988:
“But, I’ve often wondered what if all of us in the world discovered that we were threatened by an outer–a power from another planet. Wouldn’t we all of a sudden find that we didn’t have any differences between us at all, we were all human beings, citizens of the world and wouldn’t we come together to fight that particular threat?”

Chicago O’Hare International Airport UFO Sighting, 2006 (the following text is from Wikipedia)
The Sighting
At approximately 4:30 p.m on Tuesday November 7, 2006, federal authorities at Chicago O’Hare International Airport received a report that a group of twelve airport employees were witnessing a metallic, saucer-shaped craft hovering over gate C-17.
According to eyewitness reports, the strange object was first spotted by a ramp employee who was “pushing back” United Airlines flight 446 which was departing Chicago for Charlotte, North Carolina. The ramp worker then apprised the flight crew of UA446 of the existence of the spinning, metallic object above their aircraft, and it is believed that both the pilot and copilot of this aircraft also witnessed the object at that time. According to John Hilkevitch of the Chicago Tribune in an interview on CNN’s ‘Glenn Beck’ Program: “The disk was visible for approximately two minutes and was seen by close to a dozen United Airlines employees, ranging from pilots to supervisors, who heard chatter on the radio and raced out to view it.” The UFO was then seen to suddenly accelerate straight up through the overcast skies. Witnesses reported that the object left behind an open hole of clear air in the cloud layer and that the mysterious hole disappeared or “closed” within a few minutes.
Official Reaction
Both United Airlines and The FAA first officially denied that they had any information on the O’Hare UFO sighting until the Chicago Tribune, who were investigating the report, filed a Freedom of Information Act request. The FAA then ordered an internal review of air-traffic communications tapes to comply with the Tribune FOIA request which subsequently uncovered a call by the United supervisor to an FAA manager in the airport tower concerning the UFO sighting.
The official FAA stance concludes that the sighting was caused by “weather phenomenon” and that the agency is not investigating the incident. Some witnesses interviewed by the Tribune were apparently “upset” that federal officials declined to further investigate the matter.
Media Coverage of the Incident
The Chicago O’Hare airport UFO incident was picked up by mainstream media such as CNN, CBS, and Fox News, and was widely and seriously reported. This is somewhat unusual for today’s large media companies who tend to use a facetious or mocking style when reporting about UFO sightings. Some media outlets chose to run an Associated Press piece which uses this style and concludes with a humorous quote making light of the sighting. Many UFO researchers and UFO conspiracy theorists consider this to be an often deliberate way of deflecting any serious attention from the UFO phenomenon and specific incidents.
MSNBC also ran a report By Jessica Bennett of Newsweek in which she interviews Peter Davenport of the National UFO Reporting Center. In her report, Bennett mentions that the United Airlines staff who witnessed the UFO are “upset” at the lack of serious attention given to their claims by federal authorities.

The Race for First Contact – Shaping Public Opinion for the Open Appearance of Extraterrestrial Races
There has been a worldwide suppression of a secret extraterrestrial presence on Earth for at least 50 years from the general public and most elected public officials. The official public disclosure of the extraterrestrial presence has long been speculated to be imminent. The repeated delays have led to much uncertainty over when the secret extraterrestrial presence will eventually be disclosed. However, rather than ‘when’ being the critical issue to be decided, it appears that the more difficult issue is ‘how’ the extraterrestrial presence will be disclosed. There appears to be a secret race to shape public opinion of an extraterrestrial presence in a way that prepares the public to accept a particular ‘first contact’ scenario.
Public disclosure of an extraterrestrial presence is likely to occur in a manner that provides clandestine national security agencies a means for effectively dealing with whatever contingencies arise out of unknown global/celestial events that have been predicted or even started to occur. An ever-growing number of authors, scientists and military-intelligence officials describe such global/celestial events in terms of a ‘reversal of the magnetic poles’, a shift in the physical poles, vast solar eruptions, a large unknown planetoid passing nearby the Earth, and comets/asteroids that impact with the earth. The evidence for each of these global/celestial events is sketchy and not conclusive, but whistleblower testimonies suggest that clandestine preparations are well underway for a global contingency involving tremendous social and political upheavals that lie just ahead.
It appears that what has yet to be decided is when public disclosure of the extraterrestrial presence occurs and how it will be ‘spun’ to facilitate continued control by small clandestine groups of public officials not governed by usual democratic rules over accountability and transparency. The different scenarios of a first contact that have emerged into the public arena by various UFO researchers/whistleblowers point to a race between and within clandestine government agencies for how First Contact will be ‘spun’ for world-wide consumption. It appears that there are strong factional rivalries within clandestine organizations that respectively have their own favored contact scenario. It is these rivalries that best explain the long delay in public disclosure of the extraterrestrial presence.

Contact Scenario 1 – Orson Wells and ‘War of the Worlds’
In 1938, Orson Wells produced a radio adaptation of H.G. Wells, ‘War of the Worlds’. In the famous broadcast, listeners believed they were hearing genuine news reports of an attack by Martians on Earth, and the destruction of the United States. While Wells’ production shocked listeners, it gave a classic example of how mass communication could very easily shape public opinion of extraterrestrial races. Moving to the present era, Dr Steven Greer, director of the ‘Disclosure Project’, has interviewed an extensive number of whistleblowers that are former or current employees in the US military-intelligence community, or aviation industry (http://www.disclosureproject.com ). The Second Contact Scenario: A Steven Spielberg Production
This contact scenario would use a variation of scripts popularized by Steven Spielberg’s productions Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and the more recent television mini-series Taken. Here the extraterrestrials would be depicted in a more morally benign light as a technologically advanced race that has entered into agreements with the US and possibly other national governments. In these agreements, the extraterrestrials exchanged their advanced technology for the US government acquiescing to the extraterrestrials using human genetic material for the biological enhancement of their race. The agreements would portray the relationship and motivations of both the extraterrestrials and clandestine government authorities as benign, but that these suffered hiccups due to the willful activities of a renegade group of military-intelligence officials – the Cabal. The secrecy surrounding extraterrestrial-government agreements, extraterrestrial abuses of civilians, shooting down of extraterrestrial ships would be attributed to the willful activities and disinformation stemming from the Cabal, and/or the possible assistance of ‘rogue’ extraterrestrial groups. Military-intelligence officials associated with the cabal would be identified and made accountable for their activities, and/or rogue extraterrestrials would be forced to leave. The script for this scenario would then involve the world celebrating the appearance of extraterrestrials and the purging of the Cabal from the military intelligence community, and/or departure of rogue extraterrestrials. Remaining extraterrestrials would subsequently be depicted in a more positive light if not as outright ‘friends of humanity’, at least as ‘enigmas’ that can assist in the development of human civilization.
Supporters of a Spielberg ‘contact scenario’ within the military intelligence community have long leaked information of the benevolent intentions of extraterrestrial visitors. This ‘leaked’ information comes from ‘whistleblowers’ or those embedded with national security organizations that may be part of a covert campaign to shape public opinion. Researchers such as Steven Greer and Richard Boylan support the view that extraterrestrials are friendly and that all stories of abusive extraterrestrial behavior is due to disinformation stemming from the cabal. They use the research findings of Helmut Lammer confirming the involvement of military-intelligence organizations in the abduction phenomenon.

Scenario 3 – A Gene Rodenberry Production – Do You Wish That We Show Up?
Very recently, another First Contact scenario emerged into the public arena that could very easily have come from the pen of the famous Star Trek producer Gene Rodenberry. It involved a message that claimed to originate from a group of extraterrestrial races addressed to “individuals without distinction†(those outside of the elite groups that control political and economic processes), and operating under a principle very similar to the ‘Prime Directive’ Rodenberry attributed to the Galactic Federation in his series. The message was first distributed by a French aviation expert, Jean Ederman, and continues to circulate on the Internet, and is increasingly gaining worldwide attention. The alleged extraterrestrial sponsors of the message transmitted through Ederman wanted to ask “individuals without distinction†the question “Do You Wish That We Show Up?” The extraterrestrials claimed to be conducting a global ballot on behalf of extraterrestrials concerned about the future of humanity’s sovereign control of the planet. The extraterrestrials described how they had earlier attempted to reach agreement with government representatives on establishing First Contact but were rejected:
There are two ways to establish a cosmic contact with another civilisation: via its standing representatives or directly with individuals without distinction. The first way entails fights of interests, the second way brings awareness. The first way was chosen by a group of races motivated by keeping mankind in slavery, thereby controlling Earth resources, the gene pool and human emotional energy. The second way was chosen by a group of races allied with the cause of the Spirit of service. We have, at our end, subscribed to this disinterested cause and introduced ourselves a few years ago to representatives of the human power who refused our outstretched hand on the pretext of incompatible interests with their strategic vision.

Conclusion: The Race to First Contact
The role of public perception is the key to understanding ‘when’ and ‘how’ First Contact occurs. There is evidence that powerful clandestine groups outside of the public arena are competing to secretly shape the public’s perceptions of the extraterrestrial presence in a way that makes possible a contact scenario that suits the agenda of these groups. It appears that a powerful stimulus to this competition are global/celestial events that are underway whose true extent and impact are kept secret from the general public and most elected officials. While it was expected that race to shape public opinion would be something different factions in the extraterrestrial management groups would attempt due to the long history of non-disclosure and their complicity in this secrecy, the rapid spread of the Ederman message has come as a major surprise. Groups of individuals are emerging around the world believing that they now have a role to play in how the extraterrestrial presence is managed, and how First Contact emerges. Their unifying principles include ‘transparency’, ‘openness’ and ‘participatory democracy’ in how the extraterrestrial presence is managed. As these groups communicate and network amongst themselves, they are have the potential to become a global mass movement that emerges as a major player in the way in which the extraterrestrial presence is managed at the national and global levels.
The race to shape public opinion is likely to enter unchartered waters as the two rival factions in the extraterrestrial global management system find that the rise of a broad based global movement of contact groups represents a new dynamic in ‘when’ and ‘how’ First Contact will occur. The former dominant contact scenarios based on Orson Wells and Steven Spielberg, have been joined by a plausible Gene Rodenberry scenario that is quickly capturing the hearts and minds of the global population. The race to First Contact is well underway, it is up to every individual to learn as much as possible in the remaining time before the extraterrestrial presence emerges openly into the public arena. Understanding and learning about the extraterrestrial presence and First Contact is the best way in which ‘individuals without distinction’ can influence ‘when’ and ‘how’ First Contact will occur.
